Anything with Walter Mathau. Grumpy Old Men was ace.
The 80's did produce a lot of great comedies, Stripes, Beverley Hills Cop, 48 Hours, Running Scared, Ruthless People.

    There's loads.

Blazing saddles, life of Brian , planes trains, and Smokey. And since I haven't seen it mentioned, the original Longest Yard/ Mean Machine.

    Airplane
    Blazing Saddles
    Trading Places
    Ghostbusters

The 80's was an awesome time for bona fide classics (aware that Blazing Saddles was a 70s movie).

Me, Myself and Irene is brilliant stuff as well. The scene on the bridge at the end where Charlie and Hank are fighting each other showcases Jim Carrey's brilliance like no other.

Nobody mention 'The Snapper', still love it.

Also, pleased to see a lack of Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson etc as so many people today call their stuff 'classic' but the only film of any of them that made me smile/laugh is 'Elf'.

Torn between Airplane and Borat for top spot. Surprised no one mentioned Borat yet, it's utterly hysterical.

    Also like Naked Guns

For people like me of a certain age the old black and white Ealing comedies.
Kind Hearts and Coronets being a great example.
