Proud of myself for successfully tracking a Polywrath today. Tapped on it and it disappeared. Screw that. I'm going to start collecting poliwags again and evolve a newer, better one.

Made Mankey my buddy with 42 candies, walked a few candies, then caught one outside the house to get the last four. Immediately hatched one.

Something like 50 different types have spawned in my house now.

wow its tough reading through all the posts here where you guys have 3-4 garys already and here is me slogging slowly to get my first, another 80 odd candies to go :P

and still slogging through 5km eggs in hopes of a Porygon

will get there...

Having not played in a long time I only advanced to Level 12 today. Thought it was wonderful finally getting Great balls, then proceeded to waste them all trying to catch a Pidgeot.

Only once did it even go in the bloody ball on those 25 attempts; I know they sometimes move or bat the balls away but I really REALLY hate when the ball just goes off on a wayward trajectory or stops short for no apparent reason. And it seems to do it to me a lot, even for basic low level Pokémon. I'm not sure how many ways there are to swipe but I'm either doing it terribly or the game's just being a bitch.

I tried that L throw technique today. Couldn't but a damn thing. I even managed to throw it over the head of a Golbat, which I would have thought impossible.

I think it has something to do with bad connection when the poke balls go off on one like that, a good way to counteract it is to do a curve ball. Never had a curve ball go off target, it only happens with straight on throws.

As for Porygon, I was level 25 before I got one, now only getting my second at level 28. That was egg hatch 560 and 804 respectively!

Was out for hours today, caught over 100, nothing great. Best I caught were 1 Wartortle and 2 Squirtles, enough candy to power up my newly evolved Blastoise. Best hatch today was a Magikarp (that's how bad the rest of them were

) Dozens of Zubats, Pidgeys, Drowzees, Staryu and Spearows, with a couple of Eevees, Nidorans and Psyducks thrown in. Bag is pretty full now, need to sort it out and start evolving.

How is everyone else finding the new gym system? I find I'm not battling as much anymore because all the gyms I come across are at least level 6 or 7 and I'm don't usually have the time to spend trying to take them down. I'm in 7 gyms at the moment, most of them for over a week now. I know it's not a bad complaint really, collecting the few coins every day.

I have two, one from an egg with 402cp and 320hp, and one in the wild (Waterford) with 10CP!

picked a chansey up close to shannon airport the other week, one and only chansey have ever seen. 200 something hp at 234cp :P

Hatched a Chansey from a 10km egg a few days ago. cp353 with hp305. Been playing since launch - also first one I've ever seen. I'm level 31.

What level would you consider minimum to evolve a Pikachu? Have played since the beginning and finally have enough candies but not sure the one we have is worth it.

A question:

If i am the only pokemon in a gym and i level that gym up to level 10 does that mean anyone coming to takeover the gym will gave to fight my pokemon 10 times or just once cos its only pokemon in gym?

Only once for a victory and it'll lower the prestige.

No, I've had five Aerodactyl, only one with a decent move set though (bite/hyperbeam)

On Chansey, I've hatched three from eggs and seen three wild (Waterford aswell)

I evolved a 495cp Pikachu. It was the highest cp I've seen, even now I haven't found a higher one.

They go a little higher alright. They're no good in battle anyways so really only for the 'dex. Same with Sandslash, Raichu and Arbok from that screenshot...

They'd still have to reduce your Level 10 gym by 50,000 points so, no, losing one battle won't lose the gym. They'd have to fight your 'mon over&over&over&over.

Thanks! Ours is 319 CP so might try to power it up and the evolve it anyway as don't have a raichu.

Funnily enough my highest Pikachu is 496 CP; I swear I'm not trying to compete :P
