    Hi,
Further to a few previous posts here I ended up buying a 151 passat estate - thanks to all for the useful advice.fwiw I'm very happy with the car, its in great and a considerable saving on getting a new 171 reg which is what I had been planning.

One thing came up, I am being told that the manufacturer warranty still has nearly 1.5 years remaining and that this extends to myself as a used car purchaser. Does this sound right?

The dealer selling the passat is actually a Nissan main dealer (a sizeable, reputable enough dealership I would think) but they are saying if there are any problems to contact themselves and they will deal with Volkswagen.
    Does this sound normal enough?

    Thanks again!

Yeah, the balance of the original warranty transfers. Doesn't affect your statutory rights as you are still buying from the Nissan dealer.

Somewhat unlikely, but make sure the Passat is original Irish, if it's ex UK the 3rd year wont apply here.

Why do you say that? VW offer a 3 year warranty in Ireland and the Uk

Yes the first 2 years are manufacturer backed, 3rd is dealer network backed and limited mileage.
