Apparently 12 people were injured when stairs collapsed in the hanted house...

Somebody was eating too much Tayto it seems

A serious accident affecting 12 people whose injuries could be serious and your reaction is to come onto boards and make a joke about it.

Worse still is the rest of the comedians on boards having a go. Well done everyone.

This site sometimes balances on the rim of a barrel of utter ****.

It's hardly the collapse of the twin towers in fairness.
Most sustained cuts and bruises but one person is understood to have fractured a bone.

A spokeswoman for the park said those caught up in the incident were taken to hospital as a "precautionary measure".

We have the family membreship. Our kids love the place. The rollercoaster is brilliant too - short but brilliant. Loads of car parking. Loads of staff. The restaurant is pretty good too. Can't speak highly enough of the place to be honest.

€29 for entry for the day and wristband (for access to all rides) is pretty good value I think. Sure the Zoo is nearly €20 per adult. People spend up to €15 (Dublin weekend prices) for a 2 hour visit to the cinema.

Was there couple of weeks ago, some laugh, coaster is some job. Unfortunately some things were closed that day including the zip line. Wristband is worth getting if you plan to be on a few rides. I wish those involved a speedy recovery

Is it balls. Fair play to the guy above but I didn't find it all that great. Its okay I suppose. Given the amount of people that flock to it you'd wonder though. You might as well check it out and see for yourself Phil.

I know. I can't 'get over it'. People need to 'raise' the standards. You'd think we were 'above' this.
    I am so sorry.

It has a long way to go to be classified as a minI Alton Towers but I'm sure it'll get there eventually.

The jokes are fine but the funniest thing is that the OP is constantly offended by this stuff...unless he's making the jokes apparently.

We have a family membership also, great place. Our boy is only 1 1/2 so doesn't go on much but we can head up for a few hours, walk around, see the animals ( there's practically a zoo there) something to eat.
Lots of young staff but I have never seen 1 of them fiddling with their phones, like you do most places, they are very attentive. We think they take the phones off them

Doubt this will dampen the hoards of people who go to Tayto park. I was there a few weeks ago and was surprised how good it is.

But a wooden roller coaster? That cant be safe....

There's a wooden coaster over the pond in Wales, been running for decades no problem. Death occurred on its steel counterpart a year or two ago.

Seems like a Waterford Whispers article 'Man posts news story on After Hours, get's After Hours reaction, gets upset'.

I'm sure there is a rollercoaster forum you could have posted on...

Fair play to the Irish man / his team behind the whole Tayto venture, I heard him talking on the radio one day. Heard only good reports about the place. I wish the business well and the people a speedy recovery.

They got into trouble a few years ago for their animal animal welfare, or lack of. This wasn't their first offence either.

    http://m.independent.ie/irish-news/officials-ban-tayto-park-from-adding-animals-to-its-zoo-29936026.html

That and now this collapsing stairs incident makes me wonder what corners they're cutting.

Seeing it now compared to when it opened is absolutely amazing. I live quite close and it's great to have such a great attraction so close. Great for local businesses and part time work for teens over the summer too

Some people fell down the stairs in Meath and it's the lead story on RTE news.

Weird little place we live in.

    The accident happened on Saturday.
    The park reopened Sun.
Officials from the Health and Safety Authority due on site Mon.

Gotta love the sense of urgency from our governing bodies.
