Only issue I have is the attachment between the thermostat and the mobile stand seems very flimsy, anyone else finding that?

    Flimsy?
Do you mean the gap between the front and back piece?
If so, that's to allow you use the unit itself to turn the temp up or down.
Press the top of the thermostat to raise the temp and the lower piece to reduce it.

    What am i missing here?
I did firmware updates over bluetooth connection via the android app.

Why are people connecting via USB to update firmware?

While I have your attention - you have yours switching a zonevalve right? Do you know what type of zonevalve yours is and what its power / current demands are?

In the T&C's, it states that the offer is open to Dublin and Cork regions.

I am in Ashbourne, Co. Meath (with an 01 phone number). I sent off the application last night in hope. Has anyone 'a little' outside Dublin or Cork applied and got the offer?

Can anyone enlighten me if I should get one..

I've just fitted a new hot water tank and pressurised water system, We only have 2 zones (either heat all upstairs or heat downstairs). We just have the timer for the oil burner to heat the oil or tank, we have that split out now so we can either heat the rads or just the water.
We haven't got the thing wired up yet so wondering is now the time to add a smart controller. Would like to be able to heat the water or rads or the 2 zones and program it all from the phone.

Got mine delivered today, gonna give it a shot tomorrow

One other question I have for those that might know

The house has 2 zones and the hot water

If I turn the Hot water thermostat off completely the main heating should still heat the water right ?

Do you have a muktizone valve? (Can heat water without house heating being in)

Mighty. I have a spring return two port valve too. Other manufacturers seem to rate them around the 5 Watts alright. Sunvic don't seem to regard wattage as an important electrical spec unfortunately so I had some worries about hooking it up last night.

I used USB to update firmware because
    a) I didn't have relay box wired up yet (yeah I could have plugged it into mains and used bluetooth but...
    b) Nowhere in my instructions does it mention bluetooth update of firmware. Or any update of firmware.
    c) The only reference to setting up the relay box was somebody else on here complaining about mounting it before they realised they needed to connect it via USB.

So you're not missing anything if you use USB.

It does not in my case, hot water zone has to be turned on separately.

I have mine set to twice daily with the tank thermostat set to my desired level.
In winter when the solar is not yielding much then the oil will heat water, in summer when solar is giving me load of hot water then the oil boiler wont kick in because the thermostat will be above the desired level.

I must have skipped over that in the instructions.
On Android, when your phone connects to the netatmo via bluetooth, the app automatically updates the relay/ netatmo firmware if needed. I think this is after you provide it with wifi credentials.

Yeah, I realise that, it just doesn't feel like it'd take much to break the little connectors that hold the two pieces together...time will tell I suppose.

Agreed, I've had it for a year though, and I think the only person who has ever use the thermostat itself to control the heating is my mother in law.

Everyone else uses a tablet that I leave in the house.

Not sure it is really designed for heavy manual use.

What I have on the boiler is the option of water only or water and rads

    No 3rd option

What I have noticed is that the rads turn off fine once the thermostat cuts them off but the gas keeps coming on for short periods, I am guessing this is to heat the tank

Edit: I should say my plan was to leave the boiler on all the time and just let the Netatmo control it. Just worried about the water

    Hi guys,

Trying to get my head around installation. Here's my current setup:

An electronic control panel controlling two zones + hot water. A wired thermostat in each zone, and motorised valves (similar to the one in the image above) in the hot press controlling the flow of hot water to each zone.

Is it as simple as replacing both thermostats with the netatmos, and setting both zones to 'always on' the control panel? Can the netatmo also control the hot water in this setup?

That's what I'll be doing. In my case my existing stats are in stupid locations, so I will leave the existing stats on the wall and put the relay boxes near the boiler. I'll take the wiring (Live to and from stat) to the existing stats out of the junction box and replace them with the switched wires of the relaybox. I will also need to supply a Live and Neutral to the relaybox. I'll get those from the same junction box. The netatmo stat units will be used completely wirelessly.

Or that's my plan at least.

    No.

    No.

I am going to see if I can wire the relays into where the thermostats were and then use the new thermostat wirelessly.

If i can't do that then I wonder do I need 1 relay or 2 relays attached to my boiler so I can control 2 seperate heating zones?!?

My setup will be using 2 netatmos (stat/relaybox pairs), one netatmo (stat/relaybox pair) per zone.

I don't see how you could have independent control of two zones with only one netatmo.

Update is I now have both Netatmo relays installed and wired into the boiler and each is controlling an individual zone.

I discussed with the Electrician if it would be better to replace the wired thermostats with the Relays or connect direct to the boiler and he felt it was better to connect directly so that is what we did.
Although with having the 3 wires in the Thrermostats I could have replaced them with the Relay instead.

Pleased now that it is all connected right anyway and everything seems to be functioning correctly and I now have wireless thermostats which is an added bonus!

Also can report that Voice integration with Amazon Echo works very well on the Netatmo too!

Downstairs working now, netatmo hardware + android app. No HAL 9000 integration yet ;-)

    Installed downstairs here too

Still wrecking my head trying to work out how to limit the boiler heating the water while leaving the boiler on all the time to be controlled by the Netatmo

How important is it to have wifi when the electrician comes to install it?Currently switching wifi supplier so have no internet at the moment. Customer service said it was neccessary.

Do you have seperate zones for water heating and radiator heating already?

If you don't have seperate zones then you cannot control them individually and the netatmo will not be able to do anything about that...

If you're happy with tech, but just dubious about 230V... I'd say you should be fine.
Let the pro handle the wiring and you can do the app/wifi setup later.
    IMO at least.

Got mine yesterday. Was a Breeze to install, just drop in replacement for my two wire old wifi thermostat.

I'll probably hook the relay up to the Boiler some day so that the thermostat can go wireless, but that will require an electrician, so I'll leave that for another day.

Really! Can I ask exactly what commands you are giving it?

I've gotten it working too, but was tough work and Alexa seems a little dumb about it. Here are the commands I've working (Thermostat is called "House"):

    - Alexa increase House temperature (increases it by 1c)
    - Alexa increase House temperature by 2 (increase temp by 2, etc.)
    - Alexa decrease House temperature
    - Alexa decrease House temperature by 2
    - Alexa set House temperature to 21

Is that what you are doing? Any other commands? Have you figured out how to ask it the current temperature of the house and the current setting?

I've also set it up with Apple Homekit / Siri and wow it is far smarter then Alexa.

I can ask for the current temperature by simply saying:
"What is the temperature at home"

And I can change the temperature by simply saying:
    - Increase temperature
    - Increase temperature by 2
    - make it hotter
    - make it colder
    - set the temperature to 20

Notice how I don't have to say Home or House every time. Much more natural.

    I'm sorry bk, I'm afraid I can't do that...

Looks like the Echo Voice Integration is basic enough at the moment although all I really need it to do is set the temp to 20 Degrees by Voice if it is too cold...

Can someone give a quick explanation for my wiring? See pic attached.

    Hopefully it's straightforward...

When the face is on the symbol for clock on top of L and N is the time clock supply which in turn setting turns on heating. 1 is the switched supply to boiler and 2 is the feed.

There was about a week between me applying and them contacting me. 2 weeks seems a bit long.

Still nothing. Is there a number to call them on?
