Can anyone tell me if I can claim back for my sons braces that were fitted this year under PAYE? what form should I fill out? MED1 or IT6.

Also is a deep clean allowed as an expense? or an inspection prior to deep clean?

    Thanks

The place where you got the braces will fill out a med1 and stamp it . Usually send it into revenue.

    It's called a Med 2 form.
All treatments that are tax deductible are written on the back
Examination/ scale polish are not tax deductible.

You could argue that the examination was part of the ortho treatment. Depends on the dentist/orthodontist interpretation.

I doubt the taxman will go into that detail!
