If you have insecurities based on the approval of others at such a basic level, you likely lack self esteem and self acceptance and self love. You won't be able to fill these voids by using others like band aids. I suggest you learn more about yourself, why you want these things, why you take them so personally, and how they really work rather than how you think they should work from some movie.

Well if it makes you feel any better - correlation does not imply causation and all that.

Not sure any such increase has actually been reported or found. Rather - there is an increase in the number of people who are now ok with revealing their homosexuality.

!IF! there has been studies consistently showing an actual increase - which would not actually surprise me for a few reasons - then I have simply missed them myself.

Very few men I know have attitudes similar to the OP but those that do are basically just bitter. In the old days even if they were unemployable, ugly and stupid they could at least take solace in the fact they were not a woman, gay or foreign. Now women, gay people and even crazy brown foreigners are finally getting a go at running the world and these types of men only have degenerate criminals to make themselves feel better.
