Forced Severance package, how best to describe it on job applications?

As part of the severance package did your solicitors get your former employers to agree on the wording of a reference for you? If so, then you've a fair idea what they'll say about you if they're asked for a reference and you should structure your application accordingly.

If not, then the important thing is to be as honest as you can without going into too much detail. Bear in mind that as your former employer is likely to be contacted for a reference, if you tell a porkie then you'll probably be caught out.
