Ah now. I'm all for the praise Brady has gotten for his comeback, but it's not much praise to be leading a statistic based on averages. Of course one good game back will mean he'll lead it.
An average or a bad game and he wouldn't be leading either category though. He is usually up near the top in both those categories which is why I pointed it out. The point being it's business as usual despite having to sit out four games.

Hope he was checking out Jim Browns statue when Bill had the players visit it!!
Great move by Bill as well. When Bill gets asked a good football question, and he goes on for 5-10mins on the topic (often citing history), I could listen to him all day.

It was a very classy move alright and you won't see many other coaches or teams doing that. But Bill has knowledge of the game like no other and he's a walking encyclopedia on the history of Football. I think it was last year or possibly 2014, where he spent 25 minutes answersing a good question about ST's. He even went right back to individual players in the 30's, it was just fascinating to watch him. We all know Bill has no time for wanker reporters and their general stupidity. But when a good reporter asks him a good Footballing question, you can just see him really light up.

Anyone else worried about Gost? He's already missed 3 FG's this year which is a worry, because he missed 3 in the whole of last season and missed only 2 in 2014. It's something he'll need to sort out soon, or it could be costly at the business end of the season.

A little worried. If it continues, then worried a lot.
Some big games coming up, where a FG might be the difference.

I'm wondering has there been some change to the ST procedures? Very unlike him

I've a feeling there is something going on with Ghost that we don't know about. It might be an injury or maybe it's something in his personal life but he just looks off every time I see him.

The guy didn't miss a beat and not a competitive game played since January. Based on last year, I even think Brady's is getting better, which is remarkable for his age.

He works so hard to keep himself in shape. I remember reading about all the stretching he does, like two and half hours of it I think it was.

Jimmy G was considered a very hard worker by everybody around him in college. He said he thought he was a hard worker until he met Brady.

The guys on PFW made a very good point about Gostkowski. In previous years, every kick he made he struck it full and hard regardless of whether it was a kick off or a PAT/FG attempt. His method for both was the same, head down, follow through.

Now though, his kick off routine has changed, he is now popping up kicks and trying to land them as close to the end line as he possibly can. So his kicking technique is changed. the knock on effect is that his natural flow of a kick is stunted and this may be impacting on his FG attempts as his follow through on the FG's he has missed looks out of sync.

You'd have to think that his kicking style for kickoffs and FGs are completely different and independent from each other. I don't think the run ups, timing, pressure and accuracy levels required for the two types of kicks are in any way similar so i'd be amazed if he didn't have two completely different processes.

the point being though that previously the follow through on both were the same, ie he kicked full and through the ball.

Now on one kick he has changed his technique and swing and it "could" be a case that this change in technique "could" be a factor in not following through on the kicks he has missed.

Everything anyone says about the misses are all speculation and guesswork. Just that one is not an unreasonable one to factor into the equation.

I read before Sunday's game when everyone was in the locker room, Brady was outside with a harness & resistance parachute attached running sprints, while a coaching assistant was holding the harness trying to pull him back. Who would even do that after all he has achieved? His hunger to play and quest to get better is just phenomenal.

To the pats fans worried about their kicker I was say this. Okay fair enough he's missed a few kicks. All kickers go through a sticky patch. But this is the pats and bill runs a tight ship and it will be sorted out.

I mean tampa bay must be having palpitations about their rookie kicker but the pats have nothing to worry about.

I guess the real worry is when the playoffs come around. Against the better teams, 3pts can be huge. Gost is good enough to turn it around, but he will be scrutinised as the season goes on.

Well I think one he missed was at Fox borough and if I remember correctly the wind was taking the piss that day and he missed one but I wouldn't count it.

thing is, it turned out last January that 1 point was huge. It is a concern. Granted, its not a second round draft pick rookie concern, but he really does need to turn it around and soon and get the form back right.

Playing like sh1t today offensively. Our o-line are sh1t and again with conservative play calling. If our offense dont get theirs heads out of their asses our defense will wear down and give up plays. Defense keeping us in this game.

That James White run on 3rd & Whatever before half time after we stopped their 4th down drove me absolutely nuts.

Defense almost just as bad. We've punted twice, so have they. Defense are not getting off the field, no QB pressure, and Ryan getting picked on. Our highly paid safety also not contributing.

Defense started well but when they are expected to stay on the field constantly mistakes will happen.

All the weapons we have on offense and our Offensive line cant even give Brady time.

The OL is the bigger issue, but the defense hasn't stopped them from long drives.

And now Hightower makes a big big play!

Get in Hightower! Hopefully that gives both sides of the ball a kick up the arse. Crowd too - everything about us has been flat today.

To be fair as poor as our defense has been at times they stopped the Bungals on 4-1 on our goal line and now that safety and they have been decent at times. Our offense not motoring is causing issues here as the Bengals are not trying to force throws and chase the game.

Credit for the stop on 4-1, but did also allowed a long drive to get there.
Offense finally goes to Gronk/Bennett and they start moving/scoring.

Excellent drive. Mostly tight end driven too, that's what I like to see.
