Roux still not 100% from his concussion last week. From the horse's mouth. Good to see he wasn't pressured to play...

Connacht going to have a long afternoon up against that Toulouse scrum. Better not knock on much.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,176 ✭✭✭testtech05

Soon gonna be more than a penalty id say!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    6-0 down.

Need to avoid scrums although that second scrum was better than the first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Connacht haven't a prayer of winning as it stands.

We seem to kick out on the full from kick offs a lot. That's a killer against a scrum like this!!

Connacht not helping themselves with silly knock ons. Just can't do it today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 888 ✭✭✭Cathalthesmart

Lets just swap knock on with penalty.

Why are Connacht fans booing? It was clear crossing.

    Dillane is a beast.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

Ref is officiating the break down quite well.

Toulouse trying to use the dark arts and not being allowed to get away with it

    Shut up thomond.

Kelleher and Dilane linking up well on the flanks. A nice one-two combo of speed and smash.

Great comeback from Connacht. Minced early on in the scrum, but haven't dropped the heads. Heenan & Dillane have caught the eye, and the outside backs are having a field day.

Love watching Connacht play, very enjoyable style.

Toulouse are bordering on useless outside of their scrum and Besy's boot. Connacht far the better apart from one aspect. The scrum seems like far too important a part of the game for what is a restart method. If you dominate it there's nothing the other team can do

Are you joking me? David got that ball with the whitest of jerseys and in the space of 1 second he's covered in blood. It came out of him like a fire hydrant!!

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 35,576 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

Toulouse only good in the scrum?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,470 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Good try Toulouse in fairness but the pure power and size they have is making the difference. They always get over the gainline which has the Connacht defence retreating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,883 ✭✭✭Rattlehead_ie

Not one to comment of reffing, but there has been some terrible reffing against Connacht

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,470 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Turned down 3 points right on HT.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,176 ✭✭✭testtech05

Big call and as it turned out didn't work out but I think they were confident from previous lineouts and maul success!

I'd like to see a replay of just after jacks chip and gather before Toulouse 2nd try. On 1st view looked like one of the retreating Toulouse boys obstructed I think it was heff just as he was going in to secure the ball. From that they went up and got the try!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,658 ✭✭✭Kanrith

This is not looking great, some pretty porous defending by Connacht.

Should attempted the 3 points I thought - although our Lineouts going well

Our scrum getting mullered - get Loughney on for Carey and move Finlay to TH

Probably 12 of those missed in the last Toulouse try.

In fairness the scrum was one of the reasons they dominated so much last year.
Buckley injured, White retired and Ah You gone to Ulster they are down on numbers. They really only have 2 capable props now - Bealham at TH and Buckley at loose. No backup. Last year they had great depth there.

Toulouse 12 still has Aki's blood all down his back :/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,470 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

    Carthy is awful frustrating.

    It makes him stronger

Toulouse should have at least one man in the bin for high tackles

Connacht will rue that missed penalty & the turned over LO at end of first half
