Deleting Tinder - can you re-install to see people you previously swiped past?

Hello everyone!

So I feel about 15 writing this not 32 but anyway, I'd appreciate any advice!

There's a guy that works in the same building as me but for a separate company who are nothing to do with my company. We share no social space such as kitchens etc.

I've seen him outside when he's on his smoke break sometimes and have always thought he's very good looking and definitely my type as far as looks go!

A few months back we matched on Tinder and got chatting. He seemed a lovely guy and we got on well. However, I was only recently single and probably not in the right frame of mind for dating etc so I kind of let the conversation die out after a couple of days and then eventually deleted the app.

I haven't seen him around since either as I gave up smoking so wasn't in the smoking area anymore.

Fast forward to now, I am definitely ready to get back in the dating game so have gone back onto the dating app. I saw him on there but stupidly swiped past, I didn't even mean to! Silly mistake.

Coincidentally, I've seen him out in the car park a few times this week and both times he's said hello and appeared a little shy, even almost blushing today when I said hello.

I've decided that next time I see him I will definitely try to strike up a conversation but based on recent months, it could be weeks or months before our paths cross again.

I don't have any other way of making contact without looking super weird, Facebook etc is out of the question.

Long story short, should I delete Tinder and reinstall it and if I do this will he come up on the app again? I'm not sure it will work as I've set it up as a 'new' account, even though it's the same email add and I swiped past him last time?

I know I would then have to rely on his seeing me on there and swiping yes to me, but it's all I can think of and worth a shot.

Has anyway uninstalled it and reinstalled before and seen the same people again?

yep if you uninstall and reinstall he will pop up again !!

If you reinstall - all the matches you had are still there (unless someone unmatched you)

You also have the option to delete your account (in the settings) you will then have a brand new account (no matches, then hope you will find him again)

If you deleted your Tinder account - everything is deleted...emails and matches. You need to swipe through everyone again to find him

This is not true - if you delete your account everything is gone...mails and matches

I delete the app from my phone every couple of weeks and each time I reinstall it, my matches are still there.

Deleting your app means that your account still exists. In order to start again with a clean slate you have to go into the settings tab and select to delete your account.

You've seen him in the car park a few times in a week, but not bothered to speak to him? And now you're hoping technology will just go your way and bring you back together? That's a bit immature to be honest, there is absolutely no reason you couldn't talk to him instead of depending on an app.

I would guess he may be embarrassed because from his perspective, you matched, got talking and then you disappeared with no explanation. As far as he knows, you just unmatched him and now you're passing him in the car park with only a hello.

I think it might be time to adult up and actually talk to him, tell him you deleted the app but that you would actually like to talk to him. Anything else is just messing.

Your post is very patronising, saying it might be time to 'adult up'
I didn't say I hadn't bothered to speak to him, I've said hello - only twice did we get to talk and the others, he was getting in/out of his car on the phone or one of us had company.

The 2 times I got a chance to speak, a quick hello and a smile is what felt appropriate on these occasions, we were walking in separate directions and on opposite sides of the car park.
I have also been a little shy I guess, it's not easy to just stroll over to someone you fancy and start chatting away.
It's taken me a while to feel ready to even think about dating again.
I'm not going to hang around the doors waiting for him for Gods sake.

I'm not 'relying' on technology at all, I'm hoping to use it as a way to get talking to him again in case I don't see him for a while. If it doesn't work, I'll wait until I see him.

Anyway, thanks all for your help everyone else.
I deleted and reinstalled and after about 20 profiles, he popped up.
So I liked him and I guess I just have to wait now!

Hopefully I'll see him in the meantime anyway and can 'adult up' and go talk to him

As previous poster said - deleting the app or uninstall from your phone is not the same as deleting the account. If you uninstall you've not done anything. However if you delete your account then you lose the emails and contacts (I know as I've done it several times and it's a pain to start again)
