Just read on balls.ie that Rob Hennelly was getting some abuse at the Breaffy game yesterday. Anyone know if there is any truth to it? Hope not.

Heard he kicked 9 points off both feet? Wouldn't be the first time he's contributed plenty to the scoreboard for the Mitchels. Is there a reason he hasn't been given a real chance for Mayo? I seem to remember him making brief appearance at some point but then nothing.

Yes he was very good yesterday, scored one off his ciotog from play and if my memory hasn't deserted me kicked a free with same.

He did get a run out the year before last.. Fuzzy on the year.Played in the FBD and got some game time in the league.Very skillful player and a nice lad to boot.

Perhaps he can push on next year and move up to the next level.

Next weekend I think. Aren't Kilmaine Division 1 in the league? Could go down to Junior?

Senior looks set to be a possible Castlebar v Ballintubber semi. While in intermediate you'd probably expect who ever comes out of the Belmullet, Shrule/Glencorrib, Moy Davitts & Westport side of draw to win it out? Strange grade though intermediate is, hard to predict. The Neale were tipped by every Mayo News writer at the start of the year yet have apparently been very poor. Whereas Paddy Power have Kiltimagh as championship favourites, you wouldn't expect that at the start of the year

    To be confirmed.

    All games in McHale Park

    15th October 2016

    Breaffy Crossmolina Deel Rovers 15.00

    Knockmore Aghmore 16.30

    16th October 2016

    Castlebar Mitchels Ballaghaderreen 14.00

    Ballintubber Garrymore 15.30

    Two tasty double headers.

Yes I'd expect a Mitchels Ballintubber semi final and Breaffy Knockmore semi final?

A potential Mitchels-Ballintubber semifinal could be a great game.

Playing the winners of New York and Sligo. Winners to meet Galway.

Roscommon to meet the winners of Leitrim and London.

    Tough draw
    Can't wait

Sligo will be a much better opening game this year at least, London never really took the game to us last year but Sligo should at least battle you'd think. We've the strongest team in the province by a long way but there can't be any taking results for granted this year, I'd love to see the same hunger against our provincial opponents as our performances against Dublin in the last month.

More than likely Mchale Park I'd say, wouldn't mind a trip to Markeivic park though.

New York have never won a championship match IIRC. I'd confidently rule it out.

They are steadily improving could have taken Roscommon last year were it not for a narrow point win, it's coming sooner or later definitely against a Leitrim /Sligo

It's coming, but not this year IMO. I'm very confident Sligo will beat them, even if it's a close game.

It does not look very good for Mayo re the draw in the Connacht championship, beat Sligo,Galway and Roscommon? They can not go out flat in any of those games .
Rochford has proved himself to be incompetent and has no idea of how to deal with the small cabal of players in this group that has too much of a say.

There is too much mileage and mental fatigue to over come.
Sadly, this Mayo group are finished, they are all through.

    Maigh Eo Abu!

The problem with NY is turn over.

Its a transient spot so the team changes a lot from year to year, no guarantee that the 2017 version can build on what the 2016 version did.

Hearing this type of thing over and over again in this thread regarding Rochford and Breaffy players.

Is there anything at all to back it up? If not I'm just gonna assume any such allegations are coming from friends of Connlly and Holmes

Good hard draw, will be 3 solid tough games. Looking forward to it already.
Lads will be well up for it.
