He's been dropped 7 times in his pro-career.

In the words of the man himself "a gust of wind and he does the chicken dance".

Hes been stopped 1 by KO

A month out and the threads already decending into madness; this must be a new record.

Yep but hitting the deck 7 times from strikes is not going to be good against someone with the power/accuracy of McGregor.

    One thing is for certain.

If Conor drops Eddie, there will be no waving him back up. He'll jump straight into his guard and start throwing strikes.

Yes being dropped by strikes and beig finished is completely different. I compete in mma and being dropped is fine as long as your offensive in your guard and can also do damage.

I think conor ends it within 2. But i feel people here are misrepresenting his comments.

Cowboy's win was as good as TKO as it gets. Was bizarre to grapple him when he could barely stand and that was after being hit with less power than Conor will hit him with.

Eddie never once took Cowboy to the ground either, despite trying a dozen times or more.

I'd say McG will hit him with lots of knees taking the wind out of him and then finish him with strikes by the end of 2nd.

Nah, the Aldo fight takes that record.

That mentality won't get you very far.

    Firaz Zahabi said it best.

He said "being dropped means a disruption between your brain and your body."

You are arguing that being dropped is fine but being KO'd is not fine! The only difference between the 2 situations is the degree of disruption between your brain and your body.

Long term if you keep getting dropped, you're susceptible to all sorts of problems. There's so little actual science on the subject but there are strong indications that constantly having disruptions between brain and body can lead to CTE.

It also affects your ability to withstand future blows.

There's no positive way to spin being dropped 7 times in your last 14 fights. None. And that's exactly the position Eddie Alvarez is in.

As for yourself, i'd do some research on CTE if you think the only thing you need to worry about is offensive guard-play when dropped.

We don't know that for sure as none of us saw his regional fights.

Anyway, what we do know is 7 of them happened in his last 14 fights. His chin is worsening not improving.

We'll see what happens. There's 26 days until Fight Week begins and 24 days until the next decent MMA card so there won't be a whole lot else to discuss other than this fight :pac:

Chael Sonnen believes the story about Conor.

Where did he get the picture in the video from?

    Stahhhhhhp.

Also, that's from god knows where and he looks to be stretching or about to tumble.

The cage in SBG doesn't look like that.

Hey all...for UFC205, am unable to buy the ppv for the fight on it's own or will I need to subscribe to eirsport or BT or whoever will be showing it? How much would this be if it is a PPV? If subscribing is required, could I subscribe for a month only?

Actually I'm fairly sure that's a still from a video when he was sparring Paddy Hyland a few years ago. In fact, I'm certain of it, you can see the end of Hyland's name in the top left corner. Also the tattoos.

Also, the story is confirmed to have been nonsense. Chael went with the story to get a few extra listeners.

I don't know where it took place but it's definitely the same sparring session I mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBke3P2ovVk

It does look like SBG Dublin, just with a different canvas in the octagon.

Wouldnt surprise me the commision is a kangaroo court, his punishment was a joke. Makes things interesting going forward, but €€€ would make him see sense.

I get you, but its gonna be interesting to see the gate and ppv sales after 205, cause from what i see on here of what people are paying for tickets is it not on course to break his own record ?

Yeah id imagine MSG will be the biggest card of all time but its down to how stacked it is and the magnitude of the actual event being the first in MSG, if 202 had the same card as 205 it would do the same imo.

****ing yes! As soon as the fine was handed over I said Cobor shouldn't fight in Vegas anymore, didn't think he'd actually suggest it himself. Wouldn't be surprised to see MSG offer him an exclusivity deal like the new arena in Vegas was trying to do.

The toys out of the pram routine is getting a bit boring now. Used it for 200, now for Nevada.
