Bloods say my ewes are high and low in copper

    As the title says got ewes blood tested ..and came back saying shocking low In selenium so that was easy sort injected them all but it also showed that my copper levels all over place with some to low and some to high ... my flock is all hiltex so going in with a copper bullet no good and ideals

    I'd be slow to put a bolus in any sheep with texel breeding especially if you've no swayback issues.
    blood sampling of copper can be unreliable so if theres some high and some low I'd be looking for an explanation for the difference first.

    Best way to test copper status is to test the liver but its not the easiest thing to do.

    Would you put out a mineral bucket in a hope the ones that are low would regulate themselves

    theres very few sheep blocks with copper in them. the cattle licks would surely kill a few.

    what kind of ground are ya on? granite/shale/limestone/sandstone

    Bog ground in the west or Ireland
