Shop Betting machines warning

The football machines that are in all shops nowadays have now got horse racing on them.
A word of warning about them.

Boylesports and Ladbrokes Early prices on the machines are not the same prices as they have in the shops!.
Queried this in a Boyles shop today and was told "they are not our machines and are therefore not our prices".
How stupid do bookies think their punters are?
Why would you back a horse(s) on a machine with the early price screen right beside it?
Paddy Power are currently the same price on both machine and in-shop early prices for horses.
Probably only a matter of time before they take more margin on the machines.

And probably no Best Odds Guaranteed.

I assume you are pointing out "the 20% plus margin"?
Going on the football prices, I'd say that's the minimum margin.

My point was Paddy Power have the same prices at their shop prices whle Boyles and Ladbrokes don't.
So the margins on the BGT machines in Boyles and Ladbrokes is a lot more than in Paddy Powers.

You are adding 1+1 and getting 3 there.

The margin is the bookies over a period of time, not a mark up applies to the bookies price.

Just because the prices on machines in PP's are the same doesn't mean the overround/margin on those machines is any better. Maybe it means the shop prices in PP is worse. You need to compared the machine to machine price to make a price like that.

For example, say these are the prices on a certain race.

    Boyles 5/1
    Ladbrokes 9/2
    Paddy 4/1
    Machines (in all 3) 4/1

Going by what you said above, you'd complain that the machine have a lower price than the shop in Boyles and Ladbrokes but not Paddys.
Obviously, if you checked the same race for all 6 prices you'd notice that. But if you were just checking random races in each you wouldn't.
