Seeing a wide variety of Pokemon in gyms today, instead of the usual few. Everyone must be putting in their rarer ones just to taunt everyone else

Definitely! I took my local gym last evening and placed a Porygon (CP ~1200) in it. Checked it this morning and someone had added a weak Muk (CP ~800) below it. No coincidence methinks.

Potentially seeing a Tauros, Kangaskhan or Farfetch'd in a gym are the only plus to this new update. I know there's a guy in Waterford with a Kangaskhan, saw a Tauros early on (so guy may have been banned) but never seen a Farfetch'd in a gym

Saw a Tauros in a red gym on Thursday, he was only 600cp so there's at least one going around still. Saw a Kangaskhan at one stage too, but not in a long time. Have never seen a Farfetch'd around either.

I planted my Tangela in a gym this evening, it's less than 1100cp but I've never seen one in a gym before so it's probably the rarest thing I have.

I walk along the grand canal most days. I only started using pokemap is the past week, I got pissed off hearing about everyone getting great mons.
So I just walk around areas which have previously been good to me and I can reach easily. According to the pokedex I have seen 529 and caught 516 magikarp.

Grand canal means I get lots of magi and slow poke , poliwag, psyduck and staryu. I've transferred an awful lot of golduck and starmies. But other mons which are common to others here, like Eevee, are rare to me.

Tried to hit East pier again today but it was jammers, couldn't get parked anywhere near it. Managed to get a couple of seals which gave me enough candies to evolve as we drove along. Took a long walk this evening and hatched 2 eggs - 1 tentacool which brought me over the 50 candies so we evolved to Tentacruel and then a Dratini that came with 25 candies so straight away got Dragonair. Very happy with today's haul :pac:

Hatched my second 10k egg today and got Hitmonlee, never heard of him up to now.

Current buddy is Mr. M. Carp, cp153. A while to go before evolve though, with only 130 candy. He does appear a lot in Drogheda town, he must like the Boyne.

I'm sick, hatched 4 10k's and got, 2 electabuzz, an onix and an eevee. Needless to say I have all of the above multiple times. The previous eggs were, Jynx, Onix x3, Electabuzz x2, scyther x2, kabuto x3... I'm getting pretty damn sick of them. Only ever hatched 1 snorlax, not got lapras, aerodactyl, Chancey or Magmar yet

Is there any way to evolve anything other than flareons with Eevees? I know the name trick only works once for each, but I think I must have evolved about 15 different Eevees and they've all been flareons.

You stole mine, not a single flareon yet, didnt bother doing trick as dont have any good eevee

Mine all are about 1400cp, but are crap in battle. I've one vaporeon and one jolteon. I wonder does it have anything to do with where you catch the Eevees.

As far as I can see. It's just random luck. I just get Jolteons.
As I said before I don't catch too many Eevee
Mrs Deimos has over 100 candy because she hasn't found the right Eevee to evolve in a while.

I have 200 Eevee candies but gave up evolving them as all I was getting was Jolteon. Got one Vaporeon with the naming thing, but he's not good.

Just started noticing from the other day that pokemon seen in gyms are now shown as seen in your pokedex. I'm up to 93 caught and 111 seen.

Yeah, a new update was released the other day. We were talking about it a few pages back. Essentially, it's crap and I now have 1 extra in my seen list so I'm not happy! You can find more info about it below:

When viewing or fighting a Gym, any Pokemon that you encounter will be registered as Seen
It’ll only add 1 Seen to your Pokedex if you haven’t seen one in the wild yet
It is happening since today, so any previous interaction with Gyms doesn’t count
It will add region exclusives as “Seen” in your Pokedex also

Where are you taking them? Or are you with Instinct? Even in Dublin city centre there are gyms standing for days on end.
I've a Poliwraith that been in Spain since I was there in early September. He's gonna have a hell of a tan when he eventually gets back to me

I'm in six gyms that are there for about a month now. Others I just dip in and out of.

I don't take over many gyms, I only have 70 coins total. My focus has always been on completing the pokedex rather than battling. I'm playing in Edinburgh and most of the gyms I go to require crazy amounts of training to get another position available or are low level and get turned over very quickly.

The ones that seem to have a crazy amount of training are the ones to go for. Find the bottom one or 2 mons in the gym and attack them with a lower cp. The lower the difference the more you can raise the prestige. On Saturday I was able to jump a gym by 1200 cp at a time by beating the first 2 defenders with one guy (it required my dodging to be on point). With raises that large it does not take long to open a space.

Even for filling your dex it is well worth is, I've usually been able to farm 2 incs every three days for the past 2 weeks.
