Aidan Walsh also concentrating on football for the year but thought that was common knowledge at this stage

He said both are playing hurling? Have Band on or Fermoy played senior hurling?

Cahalane and A Cadogan and both playing hurling next year. Walsh gone to the footballers. Might hurt his hurley making business

Bandon went up to senior twice. Fermoy never have.

I meant also in the sense that it's more news - apologies for the wording!

Good win for the glen today. Well in control at ht but were 2 down with 10 to play. Horgan supplied the scores to get over the line by 2.
Very good crowd of over 11,000.

Meant to comment on that. Absolutely awful. Good weather all week so can't blame that.

Jesus the standard was awful. Few decent scores but other than that the touch etc was cat. 30 odd players on display and not a cork hurler in sight bar Hoggy's cameo towards the end and 1 or 2 glimpses of Robbie O'Flynn.

It was pretty disappointing form an Inter County perspective alright. Difficult to judge standard from 1 game in October, but being the showpiece game for Cork club hurling, it was poor. A significant number of players looked overweight to me.

Yeah hurling wasn't out of this world - some good moments. Intensity was there alright, but Glen were much better side & should have not been in a position where it ended up so close - Horgan stepping up and winning the match when it was in the melting point was a positive. But as with the semi's no "new" Cork players on show I felt...

Most positive thing for the day I would think was the return of Michael Cahalane in the 1st game. For the 1st 20 minutes in the Bandon v Fermoy game he was savage. 3 man full forward line of Crowley, Cahalane & Sugrue were very dangerous & Fermoy couldn't handle Cahalane - I think 2/3 differnt players picked up bookings for fouling him &/or hauling him down. He ran out of steam but to be expected for a player who hadn't any physical training for 2 1/2 years previous to the 1/4 final!!! So pleased for the guy as from what I've heard he is a genuine good bloke...

+1 on Cahalane. Fantastic to see him out there and doing so well. There was word he hurt his hamstring which slowed him down towards the end.

Was very impressed with Bandon. Big physical team with a few lightning quick players. Think they will do well at Senior

Cahalane was the outstanding player from the 2 games i thought

Thought it was one of the better county finals Ive seen in a while. Intensity, tackling levels way above anything seen in Cork in a long time. Hard competitive stuff no uncontested scores. Both side lacked classy score taking forwards, Hoggy aside. Robbie Flynn,Dean Brosnan and Moylan worth a look but Kingston has to start picking form players.

Heart murmour or whatever that heart problem that young people find out they have that stops them from playing sport. Got the all clear last year to return i believe.

Yeah - a heart issue - had to stop all sport, wasn't even allowed to play golf. Not sure when he got the all clear but it is great to see him back.

Cahalane is nailed on to be involved with the senior hurlers next year. Would Sugrue be up to it or would he be better off with the footballers?

intensity and tacking is something that should define Rugby, not hurling.

hurling is defined by skill, speed, scoretaking and all the other fundemental basics of the game. if we are judging hurling on tackling now, then no wonder the game in trouble.

Handy draw for the hurlers. Tipp in qf

    We then play Waterford.........

Brolly going on about how Frank has outstayed his welcome on the CCB.

Ladies football county final currently on 103fm. After a Mourneabbey goal in the first minute is seems to be all St Vals. They lead 1-3 to 1-1

Mourneabbey lead 3-3 to 1-4 at halftime

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,351 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Mourneabbey hold on to win 3-5 to 2-7, St Vals kicked 4 or 5 wides in the last 10 min when on top

SARS 1-04 mayfield 0-03 latest. Only listening in the radio but it sounded like it was a poor goal mayfield gave away. Keeper appeared to come out to clear the ball and didn't get there.
