cost of renting a slatted shed

    i am just wondering what would it cost to rent a 4 bay slatted shed which would hold 40 18 months old cattle,owner has slurry and i have my own silage

    Wouldn't know exactly, I presume you know that you have to do a b and b arrangement with the farmer which means you'll have to transfer the cattle into his herd number while they are there.

    B&B arrangement would be required but that would'nt be a problem. Not sure on the owner keeping the slurry, would that be a plus or a minus to the owner but you would be in and around €500 a bay for the winter.

    Around €40 to €50 per head for the winter would seem reasonable, so €1500 to €2000. Much more than that and the cost of holding the animal for the winter could be pushing €200 depending on the feeding regime.
