I await the day that Joe opens the lid on the Catholic Church and all the money and property they were let by gullible fools who believed they were going to heaven by leaving the church their houses, property, farms etc. and all they earned in their lives.

He touched on it with jewellery for some items or other last year but I'd say he's afraid to delve too deep into it.

The grant would just about cover the opening of the grave by the council.

It's like when you bring your car in for a service and some chancers automatically replace the wipers whether those you have are brand new or not.

Would you get to the point caller or is this just a general ramble?

Money grabbing Palmolives - Joe gets into a lather.

Money grabbing Padre - Joe doesn't give a flying feck.

This is the story they tweeted about that I posted upthread!

"Coming up next on #liveline - 'Church offerings' and other payments that funeral directors make to priests. Are you happy to pay them?"

What in the name of God was the past ten minutes for when it's phrased so succinctly there?

In Dublin grave alone can be €4k and that's a "cheap" one, then another €500 plus for a few lads to dig the grave from the council, then a €50 or more "fee" for a permit to put up a headstone, tis a shakedown.

They probably said "no" coz they knew they were getting it off the undertaker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,829 ✭✭✭✭Dan Jaman

A gesture? You seriously expected them to actually do it for nothing?

    Jesus, what another pointless call.

Is the cost of dying now greater than the cost of living?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 330 ✭✭Bodhran

The undertaker looks after all the disbursements on behalf of the family. It would be unusual for the family to make those disbursements themselves on the day of the funeral.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,064 ✭✭✭✭Odyssey 2005

Why didn't you just ask the undertaker ya dope..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,829 ✭✭✭✭Dan Jaman

You could have saved €450 by bringing in your own JCB.

My uncles dug into my grandads grave to put my grannys ashes in (they were in a little box), the graveyard wanted an extortionate amount to do it. So we just did it ourselves, didn't need her on file/record there.

What the bleedin' Hell are we back to Inge for???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,829 ✭✭✭✭Dan Jaman

Inge sounds like a great crack.
