And that news re region specifics are locked, including from egg hatches, is a pain in the arse, so I've to fly to the states and asia/Australia to get them.... Fook that!
If/when trading comes in I can give you a Tauros, I got 8!

How is the game fairing these days, heard it was wanting popularity wise now.

Game is still doing very well.
Recent article from wired.com was posted 2-3 pages back.
It shows that revenues are actually up even though daily users are down from peak demand. Its still in the top 10 mobile games.
This is due to to normal 'fad' download of a popular free game/app. Casual users delete the game while genuine players stay interested and continue to invest in microtransactions.
Niantic has rolled out a couple of updates and has more planned, the pokemon background (which I was never into) has lots of scope for more updates in the future.

Had a strange thing happen this morning, Electabuzz on the Sightings but a Magmar spawned in (wasn't on sightings). As soon as I caught him the Electabuzz disappeared off sightings

Are bite and hydro pump good?

Are bite and hydro pump good?

They can be; Bite is the best "Dark" quick move whereas Hydro Pump is the best "Water" special move. What Pokemon are you asking for?

Gyardos, went trudging through the muck and rain to catch the last couple of carp and hope it wasn't in vain.

Those moves give you the 2nd best attack and 4th best defensive moves, out of a possible 6; not too bad so. Just thank Jesus you didn't end up with Zen Headbutt and Earthquake ;)

Since everybody dodges hyperbeam with ease earthquake is as good because people cant dodge it.

You and me both! I think it'll be some time before I get my next Gyarados since I won't get out as much given the weather.

2k eggs are the bane of my existence, so many bloody zoobats, need crobat to be thrown into the game already.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,034 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

2k are hit and miss for me. I've got some handy Charmander, Bulbasaur, Geodude and Magikarp amongst the dross. It's no sweat to hatch one, unlike the 10k ones with heartbreakers like Pinsir and Jynx in.

I'm getting well fecked off with mons spawning in inaccessible places. If they don't want people trespassing, getting knocked down or dying in mysterious circumstances they should stop spawning valuable pokemon in mental hospitals, on train tracks, in rivers with no paths and power plants. Missed two dratinis and a sandslash today because of this messing.

I'm up to over 200 bloody Zubat candy, I'll have an army of Crobats on day 1 of gen 2! Got a Charmander in a 2km yesterday and still want Magikarp aswell. Haven't hatched a Bulbasaur or Squirtle in ages.

Not to sound too smug, but all banter a few pages back about the lack of 10km eggs - I got 3 more from stops today :) One of these has to be a Lapras!

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,034 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

The second one is the Lapras. The other two are Scyther and Amonite.

im on to my 7th 10 km egg now, and ive already hatched 166 eggs :(

    always get 2 and 5 kms, rarely 10s :(

    My 10km wants are Lapras>Hitmonlee>Kabuto>Dratini

A second Snorlax wouldn't be the worst either, I'd actually take another Eevee over another Electabuzz/Onix/Pinsir!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 688 ✭✭✭Irishbrick

Ah Christ second ten K in a row with jynx, I'm .03 from next ten K, and I'm dreading it! Got a Kabuto from a lure todaybamd a dewdong, never seen a dewdong in wild before!
And Tenger, you're a legend! Anything you're crying out for... That I may have (re the swap for tauros)

Another damn Jolteon....I mean I like Jolteon but still.
    7 Jolteon
    2 Flareon
    And 1 measly Vaporeon.

You've clearly never seen Mrs Diemos tackle a gym.
She thinks dodge is a car brand, nothing more.

When the second one appears with the same move set......take a deep breath and go for a walk.

Did a long-awaited lucky egg evolution today and added Dewgong, Poliwrath, Dodrio, Exeggutor, Wigglytuff, Jolteon, Marowak, Ivysaur, Nidoking and Vileplume to the Pokedex. Also ground through all the Pidgeys, Rattatas etc. that I've been saving up for the past few months. I'm so pleased with my new cleaned-up collection! Back down to one of each mon and it looks so pretty. I was getting tired of seeing the endless pages of Pidgeys, Drowzees etc. that I was saving up for the big evolution session. 118 in the Pokedex now.

I've also gone through each mon and favourited all the ones with the best Appraisals and added an asterisk to the names of the ones with the best movesets.

No, there is no better way I could have spent my Saturday.

The new feature that tells you what location your Pokemon was caught in is pretty crap. I installed the update about half an hour ago and most of my 'mon say "County Dublin" with a few "Meath" thrown into the mix, even though I've been nowhere near Meath. Hopefully they make it more accurate in a future update because as of now... it's crap!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they have the full GPS coordinates and the original version showed a little map of the area. It doesn't even have to be part of the main pokemon screen, but having an extra button to pop up the map would be nice.

Same here, caught in Kilkenny for most of my recent catches despite being most definitely being caught in Waterford
