I can't believe they selected Deirdre O’Kane and Rory Cowan for narration, their voices are the complete polar opposites of the softly spoken Caroline Aherne (RIP) and Craig Cash.

Is Rory Cowan the fella with the extremely campy voice? If so a bit too panto for Googlebox I'd say.

I like Deirdre o Kane as an actress. But as a presenter / voiceover shes woeful. She's currently on some radio ad involving a spider in the loo or some such ****e, and her delivery is just painful.

Thankfully I never thought the voice overs that important in the UK Gogglebox. They don't really interpret what is happening a la Four in a Bed or Come Dine with Me so shouldn't make much odds to me if they are good or bad, will be the bits in between that will make or break it

O'Kane in particular has a voice like an industrial grinding apparatus.

Night time in all the houses when they're watching the six one news?
    There's something wrong there

I dunno... The 2 Cavan fellas are the only ones that seem in any way natural.

    The voice overs don't work

I'm sure they don't watch things live when broadcast.

Never watched the UK version but decided to tune in tonight.

I don't get it! This is really boring!

I think it's ok compared to C4 for just starting out.

Cavan lads are the only ones with potential to be funny / naturally witty so far I think.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,525 ✭✭✭kilns

Some of them playing to the camera a bit too much

    Feels awful flat.

I do like the Cavan lads, the African family and the Limerick mother and sons though.

It's a pity they couldn't get anyone from Dublin to go on it.

Those two from the Liberties should be hooked. They're trying waaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means 'a whale's vagina'.
