Possible Virus on Android phone?

Hi there. I have a Vodafone Smart Prime 6. Last night while checking Football scores my phone suddenly shut down, "Android Upgrade" appeared on the screen and it restarted. Ever since none of my Google Apps will open. And my Twitter app also misbehaves Could this be a virus

Have you checked to see if your apps need an update
