Are "CP ???" 'mons common? Don't think I've ever seen one (level 28 here).

I've only seen a handful. The last one I remember seeing was my Lapras I caught about a month ago.

Went out to Bull Island again to try get a damn Lapras. No luck with it but I did get a couple of Squirtles, a Wartortle, Dragonair, Dragonite and enough Magikarp to evolve my 100% IV Gyrados and to top it all off as I was leaving a Lickitung popped up. Never even seen one before so was the first new mon to my Pokédex in a while. 130/131 seen/caught now.

Where are you finding these things? Every time I go there I get Sandshrew's and Dodrio's.

Are you going up the Causeway Road or the Wooden Bridge?

I'm missing 13: Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmeleon, Charizard, Blastoise, Muk, Electrode, Weezing, Chansey, Omastar, Kabutops, Aerodactyl, Dragonite.

The buddy system has already given me: Raichu, Alakazam and Machamp.

Bulbasshole why must you taunt me so? Had to make a detour around the shopping centre to go find him and then he skipped 6 ultras and puffed away. Popped up again in my sightings as I was about to arrive late to work. I knew where he was but left him to his machinations.

In better news, his mate Squirtle gave me my 100th candy today so I can finally expunge Blastoise from my list of shame.

Lapras is just going to be one of those lucky things that pop up at some stage with enough trips out to Bull Island/Dollymount Strand. Myself and the wife usually take a trip out there most weekends if we're free. Grab a coffee on the way out, take a wander around and then park up at the wooden bridge end between the two pokestops and put on a lure each. Usually grab something to eat in Clontarf on the way home. Probably made about ten of those type of trips out since the game launched and we have two Lapras each.

Never seen or heard of a Dragonite out there though so you got really lucky with that spawn :)

I'm thinking of taking a trip up to Dun Laoghaire pier and onto Bull Island on Saturday.
Is Irishtown still worth stopping off at for Bulbasaur?

You got Lapra's from lures? I get nothing but rats, pidgies and Drowsee's. I've never bothered with lures because they have traditionally been useless for me.

They were very good in Spain, so I used all mine there.

Yup walking along the Causeway road, down to the roundabout and to the left and the whole way up the beach. I got a Squirtle and at the pokestop halfway down the Causeway and the Lickitung about 100 yards before the entrance to the golf club. I got all the rest on my way up/down the beach. Really is luck of the draw though as there have been days when all I've caught were Krabbys and Sandshrews.

Not even from a 2km egg?

After all my bitching and moaning about a lack of 10k eggs, I finally got one this morning.

I was actually more happy to get a 10k egg than I was when I had 400 magikarp

I'd love to know why some of us have gotten loads of 10km eggs, relatively speaking, and others have received none, 1 etc.

When did you start playing by the way? I received more 10km eggs when I first started playing in July than I have recently.

Got my second Lapras on the coast road before the turn to bull island. Right on the coast side before the left turn to the causeway road. He wasnt strong but I already have a strong one but thats where Id look. Was about 330pm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,016 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

Ive had rotten luck with my 2k eggs and 10k eggs.

Only ever get Pidgeys, Rattatas and Weedles ... never a Charmander or a Bulbasaur.

Only 2 10k eggs thus far but a Chansey was one of them so its not so bad I guess.

I started the day after Irish launch. Most early eggs were 2k IIRC, but tbh I didn't actually realise what to do with eggs until about level 7/8, so I probably missed some early action.

When I hit level 20 and got two incubators, I started prioritising 2k eggs and just going hatch hatch hatch. I thought the high turnover would eventually yield me a 10k, but no. I assume it is purely random and some are luckier than others.

Don't count your pokes before they hatch :p
Nothing in this game is as disappointing as a Jynx / Magmar / Pisnir / Scyther / Mr Mime / Hitmonlee / Hitmonchan from a 10km (some say Eevee).

There's a chance of something cool, but the odds really are not in your favour.

    Good luck though.

It could also be due to the number you are hatching. I've hatched 200+ at this stage, I'd estimate that less than 10% have been 10k.

I'm level 25 and I have seen 1 Bulbasaur (Bull Island) and 2 Charmanders (Tenerife). Never got a starter from a 2km egg.
I have seen 22 Squirtles, 3 Wartortle and 1 Blastoise (that bugged out).

I would say that the contents of 10km hatches are very subjective, depends where you are in the game.
I have been relatively lucky in my opinion. Hatched 11 in total, only had 2 Eevees and 2 Omanytes, had 1 Sycther last week which was already in the pokedex. Been lucky not to get multiple Jinx hatches like some others.
So all good, finally got my Snorlax this morning.
(Pinsir, Onix, Chansey, Kabuto, Hitmonchan were my other 5 hatches from 10KM eggs)

171 eggs hatched here since mid July. (Day 1 download) I have invested E30 overall and any coins I get from gyms on incubators to clear out 5km eggs and use my infinite incubator on the 2km eggs.

Does anyone know of a place where you could get someone abroad to log into your game and catch region specifics?

Maybe check the internet for sites where you give your username and password to some stranger from those regions.......................

Interesting. I've had quite a few 10km eggs so I always find it interesting how random it is for others.

I've hatched the following from 10km eggs so far:
    • Onix
    • Hitmonchan
    • Scyther
    • Jynx
    • Eevee
    • Omanyte
    • Aerodactyl

for me it is 12x 10k eggs:

    jynx x 2 had already
    magmar had already
    eevee x 4 had already
    snorlax
    scyther
    onix had already
    electabuzz had already
    aerodactyl

Yeah, Bulbasaur is an elusive mofo. I've been lucky to get him from 2km eggs 2 or 3 times now in addition to a few wild catches, e.g. Bull Island.

He's a bit of a hoor to catch when you do find him.

My phone keeps freezing and restarting. Thinking of doing a factory reset but will I be able to install version 0.35 again I wonder?

So 10k number 11 hatched. Omanytle. New to the dex for me so happy enough. Well the 32 candies that came with him were deffo worth it!
Also mad seeing people say bulbasuar is rare. Have seen loads of em. Have my ivysaur and about 10 candies. Just literally caught one 10mins ago down in delgany. Strange how the game goes for some.

How do you know your history of what you have hatched?
