Those magazine series where you get one piece per week/month to build something. I''ve only done it once with the ("nitro racer opel astra"). Took a year or more to get the bits and build but it was great craic. Then to test drive it....cool. Model making was a hobbie as a kid. That can be done on your budget. You could also try some clay shooting at the local range. Bit more expensive, but once you have a gun and range membership/insurance, the only expense is the ammo and clays....which can be as little as €20-€30 per visit. Best hour you'll have all week with clothes on.

Archery. Once you get the bow and few basic bits of gear, you're all set. Some great competitions on Coilte Forestry lands, shooting deer, bears and lions etc. (Targets, not real ones) Good Craic and usually a good bunch of people. BBQ 's and beers common as well.

Cycling. It's easy to pick up, can be social, can take you nice places, and CAN be pretty cheap. Plus, you can do it anywhere at any time, and there's plenty of groups around.

    Become a holy joe.
Indoor meet ups every sunday, hail rain or shine, you can bring the kids along. €30 should be enough for your subs (or whatever it is they call putting money in a basket these days)
Additional money will of course be required to fix the ever leaky roof, but that's only every couple of years.:D

Cycling, absolutely the best hobby ever, oh wait, you said €30 a month, sorry I thought you meant €30 a day which is what it roughly works out at when you spread it over a year. Sorry

This is actually a really good suggestion op! You wouldnt believe how relaxing and therapeutic it is for me to sit down with my daughter and build Lego sets!

Speaking from bitter experience, that's going to end up costing more than €30 a month.

I'd agree with running or walking. It's less boring or monotonous with a few interesting podcasts to listen to, especially if your walk or run is the same route each time.

Great game. And if it is too hard for you then start off with draughts.
Only trouble is finding someone at the same level who wants to play.

Write a novel. Or a novella. Or at least a short story. Or even write a letter. Feck it, just sharpen a pencil.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

    Dwarf* throwing.

It can be hard to source dwarves* though, so you may need to substitute small children. So you already have an advantage in having easy access to the equipment.

(*Little people, if you want to be PC. But then again if you want to be PC you probably won't be doing it in the first place...)

Serious answer: look at meetup.com to see what groups are in your area, might give you some ideas.

RPGs. The proper table top ones like AD&D or Call of Cthulhu. Not enough people play these nowadays, particularly women. I find it incredibly easy to while away a few hours designing fiendish dungeons but without a group they are destined to remain unplayed forever.

Dare you enter my magical realm?

Card playing groups you could join. Think it's free but you might need to buy a coffee or something.

Hot air balloon taxidermy. Who doesn't enjoy having dead stuffed animals dangling above them on ropes from a nominal height.

True that! I started playing regularly a few months ago with a mate. Took me 2 months to beat him and now I'm competitive with him. Chess.com is good but I get paddled a lot. Chess online feels different and I miss a lot of simple ****.

Genealogy. Hours and hours of hunting down long gone ancestors, both from the comfort of your own home on the Internet, and field trips to various places eg archives and libraries. It becomes incredibly addictive!

Another hobby of mine is jigsaws. I find it very relaxing.
