    Monday 12th September
AM: 12.2 cycle in 56 mins, about 4 mins slower than usual due to the hurricane that was blowing, hard work!
PM: 4.5 miles cycle in 28 mins. Did this from town to Santry, oh my god I will never complain about the lack of cycle facilities on my route after this. Atrocious infrastructure, dreadful traffic and two near misses with oh so friendly taximen grrrrr. All uphill to!

    Tuesday 13th September 3 miles @ 10:41 avg hr 119
Temperature was perfect, a lovely day. Am starting to feel a bit more energetic and this was an enjoyable run.

    Wednesday 14th September
AM 12.2 cycle in 54 mins. No wind today yipee! A million red lights though...
PM 12.2 cycle in 56:28 - this was fantastic, beautiful eve, no wind, happy dayz

    Thursday 15th September
Another bus strike, I had a collection to make in Lucan that evening but knew the traffic was going to be mental so decided to bring the bike in the boot and park in Liffey Valley and cycle in and back from there - holy chryst almighty….. The roads for a cyclist are bonkers dot com. The N4 is crazy busy with traffic and I had a couple of close misses with a coach and a taxi . Took my time on the journey back that evening which was into the wind and once again, uphill!
AM 6.7 miles in 27 mins (elevation 42 ft)
    PM 6.8 miles in 37 mins (elevation 243 ft….)

    Friday 15th September 1.5 miles @ 10:58
Uugh… Wanted to do 3 miles, went out to do a couple of loops of the village but halfway into the first loop I realised it wasn't going to happen. Was dizzy and felt crap. Called a halt after 1 loop. Possible combination of a few things, including 3 cycles this week… Also had walked a good bit today (9 miles total according to my garmin steps!)

    Saturday 16th September
REST: except for the 2 hours work in the garden…..

    Sunday 17th September 8.5 miles @ 10:53 avg hr 137
Up to the phoenix park for this at 9am to meet Mrs Mc who was doing her long run. Beautiful morning, cool and sunny. Headed off promptly at 9 and A had mapped out a route from next weeks HM race. Started off at the visitors centre and up Chesterfield Ave onto Ordinance Survey road and down through the Furry Glen/s-bends etc back to Chesterfield Ave and then up by the Zoo and back to the Aras roundabout where Tolouse was waiting to join her for some MP miles. Thoroughly enjoyable run, thanks for the company and the chat A, we must do it again sometime! Hope the rest of your run went well.
Followed by a very disappointing afternoon watching the worst dubs match I’ve seen in a long time. Not much to be said about it in the end. Thought initially I was going to be in Mayo for the replay  turns out instead I'll be in Salou  I'm sure I can find an Irish bar somewhere....

Nice LSR yesterday AM, do you think doing a run after a day off is the way to go? Cycling in the city sounds like Russian Roulette, I don't think I'd be able to enjoy it.

I'm just kind of playing things by ear at the moment and taking a rest day if I think I need it, I notice I had a rest day before my 'longer' run the last couple of weeks, I think though as the body gets used to the increase in cycling I'll adjust and need less rest.

My own cycle to work is on very quite (and mostly wide) roads up through Ongar, Clonsilla, Castleknock and then the Phoenix Park is fab of course, I only have about 1.2 miles down the quays which are a bit 'every man for himself' but the other routes I cycled during the week were far worse from a cycling perspective!!! A far cry from the lovely country roads I'll be on next weekend :D Hope all good with you :) You'll be delighted to hear I've just registered for my first mountain run, Run the Line on 26th November :D:D but sush, don't tell anyone!

I'm glad that you're not taking your life in your hands on the bike every day:) Be careful though and trust no car, bus or lorry :)

Oh Run the Line, I've hear great things about that event and it's for the most amazing cause so people couldn't possibly give out to you for taking it on :)

    Monday 19th Sept
AM 12.2 miles cycle in 50:44, roads a bit slippy and not completey bright when leaving  winter is closing in…
    PM 12.2 miles in 1:04

    Tuesday 20th September: 3.1 miles @ 10:46 avg hr 124
Forgot the good garmin so didn’t bother with a lunchtime run, despite the fact I was wearing a garmin….it takes to long to find a satellite so I never use it for runs any more (but it counts my steps every day :p) It was suggested I run naked but it just didn’t happen. Had to haul my ass out the door that evening and didn’t really know what I was doing but found myself passing the club grass track so slipped in and did 4 laps which is just over a mile on that, got progressively faster on each lap so lets call it a progression run! Finished up and headed home giving me 3.1 miles and a bit of XC practice :)

    Wednesday 21st Sept
AM 12.2 miles 57.36 cycle through the morning sunrise, just beautiful…
PM 12. 2 miles 1:02 lashed rain, have been given the loan of a waterproof jacket while I’m waiting for mine to arrive in the post so this could have been far worse if not for that but my ¾’s were soaked right through along with feet & head. It wasn’t that unpleasant at the time but I felt a tickly throat as I was going to bed that night…..

    Thursday 22nd Sept: Nada
Sore throat, sneezing, headache, cough UUUGHHH not now!!! Awful timing with Clew Bay 10k/weekend away and I’m off on my holidays next week, as aquinn would say SAKE! Spent the day gargling warm salt water, swallowing echinea and throat lozenges..

    Friday 23rd Sept: uugghhhhh
#dying #manflu (just so the lads know exactly how awful I”m feeling :D) Don’t look for sympathy from tang when you’re sick :p Luckily the west of the Shannon boardies are much more understanding when I had to cancel my trip west. Was supposed to be running in the Clew Bay 10K tomorrow with Neady and Martyboy and Snailsong were doing the half. No matter what way I tried to work it, the sensible thing to do was to stay put this weekend and fight this off as quickly as possible. Was working from home today which meant I didn’t leave the house at all, poor woody got no walk

    Sat & Sun 24th/25th Nada…
Bed, rest, more drugs, cold gone into chest but actually today I’m starting to feel a bit better and have made great inroads into the book I”m reading  No running, no cycling, no yoga nada although I did walk woody but only a short gentle walk. Gutted to have missed out on what would have been a great weekend so will have to pick something else, maybe connamarathon :D:D (I’m joking!!!).

Delighted to read all the great results from yesterdays HM and today in Berlin for clubmates & boardsies and the brilliant results from Tralee from Oso and another friend of mine who was leading the ladies 24 hour race earlier on, can't find any final results as yet. Epic performances girls.

Get one of those Doctor's masks - not only will it protect you, people will think you're the one with the disease and stay away :D:D Hopefully a week in the sun doing absolutely nothing* will fix me :).

    *I can't guarantee I'll stick to that bit :p #amillionthingstodo

+1 +1 +1 it's a tough marathon so there'd be no pressure to duck under a certain time, getting around it would be a great achievement ..... or at least that's what I'm telling myself ;)

Sussssh!!! You'll land me in a world of hot water :D when is it again....? Oh April and OOH there's a half I could definitely manage a half couldn't I?!!!!

I'm ruling out any kind of marathon training, possibly 'never again' but I'll review that after 2017. If I even attempt to train for a marathon next year someone please knock some sense into me :o

Of course you could manage the half and you can defer if the entry if you can't make it :)

Right, I can see this is the wrong place to look for sense knocking :D Although I'd say Bungygirl can be relied upon if no one else can!! I may want to, but that doesn't make it a good idea!! The future is AR.....:p

Good news from specialist today, levels nearly normal, she's very happy with the speed of the progress I'm making. There is an eye thing that sometimes goes with graves disease and I seem to be getting that but hopefully it won't progress any further. So, I can keep doing what I'm doing but lay off structured training plans & rest when I need to etc but all looking good to get back to normal in the new year :) She reiterated that running is beneficial :):)
