How do I reactivate a PPS number for Revenue

I've not lived permanently in Ireland since mid 80's. Prior to that point I had a PPS number, working and fully operational. I was back a few months ago..went to PPS office and did everything with Welfare to get my PPS card (same number as in past) which I now have, so all should be good. I closed on a property purchase…

I closed on a property purchase this week and my solicitor is trying to register the deed but was told that my PPS number needs to be reactivated. I presume that Revenue is seeing my pps as inactive.

Anyone have suggestions about how to reactivate a PPS number for Revenue purposes?
