HP are currently running a trade in promotion, as per following page:

    https://tradeuptohp.com/ie/en/pages/tradein/home

You can claim up to 360€ money back on the purchase of new devices.

I am bit concerned in relation to the fact you have to purchase the new device first, and only then they'll tell you if your old one qualified.

I read now that it only applies to businesses...?

Isn't this a list of qualified devices ?

I think most HP products qualify, probably those in that list.
As for the businesses, I just read elsewhere that somehow this deal applies to everybody.

based on further reading, it appears HP tend to accept most devices for the discount, including very cheap Chinese tablets and old computers as long as they have a valid license, not sure if Windows XP applies anymore though.

In the UK many people have used this offer, which runs there as well, I read some discussions with positive experiences of those who had availed of this offer.

    Under the FAQ section:

    Q. What trade-in devices qualify for this promotion?
    A. For trade-in devices to qualify for the promotion it must be:

A Laptop (minimum 10” screen size), Tablet (minimum 9” screen size) or Desktop.
    Fully operational, complete and undamaged.
No more than 6 years old.
Complete with a working battery and power supply where applicable (not desktops.)
Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for full details.

In the terms and conditions it then says

    6. For your Trade-in to qualify for the promotion it must be a working, complete and undamaged, (reasonable wear and tear accepted) Laptop (minimum 10” screen size), Tablet (minimum 9” screen size) or Desktop. Your Trade-in must be no more than 7 years old and complete with all accessories including working battery and power supply where applicable.

yes, as I mentioned before, even Chinese tablets (20-30 euro) apply.

As for the devices age, it's not like they have it printed somewhere, therefore if your notebook has Windows Vista for example, it should apply as it was sold between 2008-2011.

What I read is that HP are normally rather loose on this policy and they tend to accept most/all products back without hassle, that's what I read at least.

Doesn't include my daughters Pressario model.

Too bad as she looking to upgrade... HP could have keep her as a customer but now she will look around and probably move if she gets good value

But how do I know what much my trade-in is worth before I buy?

The column on the right is what you get back. So using this example from Tablets & Notebooks:

    Purchase Price_____________Trade In Reward
    €179.99 - €419.99______________ €90.00

If you buy a HP tablet for €200 you can send them back any equivalent tablet and get €90 back.

I think you can send any 9+ inches tablet, or an old laptop/desktop as long as they adhere to the minimum requirements.

based on the link, qualifying trade-in products must be HP? It doesn't say that it will accept product from other manufacturers?

What's with the dodgy looking domain name?

And if you buy your HP laptop in Harvey Norman you can get another €100 cashback from them - promotion running until 3 October.

This is mostly business equipment from what I can see ProBooks etc. You won't find these for sale in Harvey Norman.

Looks like a non-event to me.....too many T & C's and hoops to jump thru to bother.

as Peter Jones says ... I'm Out!

    For all...
this offer is official from HP, it also runs in the UK, several people have used it with success in the UK so far, that's why I mentioned it.
I heard about this in a famous deals website from there.

Qualifying products should mean that you can only buy those HP products if you wish to avail of the offer, but in relation to the used device to bring back, they can be any brand, this has been tested many times in the UK where it seems the terms and conditions are the same from that point of view (I could be wrong).

I was also aware of the Harvey Norman offer, I actually bought a HP laptop last April as they were running a similar deal, and got 75€ cashback afterward. Please note that any discount shown in the receipt will affect the amount you can claim back from HP.

    Sorry about the misinformation.

I did see a few HP x360 models on the HN site and thought they were included in the offer.
