Most likely going to be a one week punt ahead of WC. A defensive move seems a bit boring although could do one of my 4.5m to Bavies if Rose is out. Negredo to Iheanacho looks nice

Was thinking it might be time to move Lamela too.

... then I came in here and seen that every man and his dog is doing the same.

So that can only mean I thing - gw5 thread full of these comments

" Lamela brace and two assist and I sold him last week"

"f**king Lamela, sold him for Antonio who scored an o.g., missed a penalty and got red carded in 59th minute"

Stones out probably. Can't see City keeping too many clean sheets with that clown in goal.

    Care to substantiate that statement?

Man City will finish the season with 15+ clean sheets, so Stones is massive value @ 5.0. Especially given his license to get forward and the amount of goals City will score.

Remember, amongst the four games played, 3 were in front of their reserve keeper in a brand new team, and the other was away in the derby. Keep the faith.

It's pretty self explanatory to be fair. It's also an opinion not a statement so by definition does not require 'substantiation'.

Liverpool attacking coverage feels like a must but just too hard to know who will start each week and they are just so inconsistent.

Mane is probably most nailed on, but he's that little bit too expensive. Lallana is really interesting, if he can maintain his form he'll be serious value.

Going through the same dilemma. Trying to get rid of Redmond for a Pool attacker or an Arsenal attacker.

Both are made of inconsistent players and some are too expensive!!

    What to do??

I'd pick Firmino. I sold him on WC, but strongly considered keeping him and will be getting him back in at some point.

He can play wide or as the central striker so less chance of rotation. He also isn't in the Brazil squad so no mad travelling every month.

Points will be split across the team so whoever you bring in you need to stick with them for a while. Everyone jumped on Coutinho after GW1 but he's done nothing since.

coutinho does this every year and sucks people in . 10 shots a game every game from crazy positions. one goes in and people can't wait to buy him again. never buy him.
    mane is interesting me now

Anyone interested in Lallana? It would be an easy straight swap from Lamela.

Had him for a couple of gameweeks as his price was appealing but he didnt do much. As with all Liverpool mids you pick your man and stick. There looks to be plenty goals in that team this season.

I wanted Mane 2 weeks ago but I forgot about him over the 2 international weeks. Trying to be sensible I went with Ozil.

I'd almost wildcard this week if it wasn't for Aguero being back the following week.

Antonio needs to be jumped on as I missed the first train.

Also a Man city player next weekend looks important and I've only got 1 transfer

Mané and Firmino are utterly nailed on.

Aguero's return the week after makes this a "no transfer" week. Want to have options.

Gives the squad a chance to show what they've got. Any stragglers then will be cut loose.

i agree they should tighten up - (if??) when Kompany is back fit - which raises the question who of Otamendi and Stones partners him. I expect some rotation. Also i don't really agree with him getting forward providing much more value - usually he just surges to a little over halfway and then lays the ball off to a team-mate - so unless that team-mate scores a wonder solo goal there's no assist for Stones. I'm keeping a keen eye on forum favorite PVA, same price as Stones and we know how we likes to bomb forward - a goal already this season, and managed a very impressive 6 goals and 4 assists last season. Sunderland have a tonne of centre-half options, so they may play 3 of them on occasion (i think i read here that Moyes himself said so) which will give PVA even more license to bomb forward. GW6 he's more than likely coming in to my team.

Stones has scored one PL goal in his career, I believe. He's also unlikely to get bonus with Man City scoring multiple goals. I think Williams and PVA are better picks at the same price, and ManU fullbacks for 0.6m more

I disagree. At 5.0 in a team who will challenge for the title its a no brainer. City will dominate lesser teams and likely get around 15 clean sheets this year. Ok stones won't get many goals and but he will get some bonuses, he'll end up with about 150 points assuming he doesn't pick up an injury. Williams is a bargain too, PVA will break your heart because you will bench him when he gets a goal and Sunderland would be lucky to get 8 CSs all year.

I don't look at 5.0m plus defenders as season keepers really. Not priorities for FTs, but I do make a decent amount over the course of a season. If I WC next week as planned, I fancy PVA to outscore Stones over the short to medium term (5-10 GWs)

1 FT and looking at Redmond, Lamela and Negredo.

    Redmond home to Swansea

    Lamela home to Sunderland

    Negredo away to Everton.

With two of those teams, il think il wait to see how that game pains out. However with my thinking that City attacking coverage + Aguero is near must-have I don't really have many options so could be a boring Negredo to Iheancho move.

With Aguero coming in the week after.

Need to get rid of Shane long, benteke looking like the best replacement I think.

Ugh a boring bank after a terrible GW.

Happy with my team. Just not my points :)

Negerdeo > Iheanacho for 1 week, before wildcarding. I'll probably captain him as well. Hoping to hold off until after Champions League matches though.

    Current Team is:
    Foster, Jaku
    McAuley Baines Collins, Love O'Shea
    Sterling Sanchez Hazard Capoue Snodgrass
    Ibra Lukaku Defoe

Anyone see a decent transfer to make?
Thought I had a decent team but had an awful weekend.

I have a similar team, and had an absolutely awful weekend as well. Plenty of people are in the same boat though, so I'm going to resist doing anything drastic. I'd be shocked if all the same players blank again next week. Currently planning on banking the transfer myself.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like you might have some money in the bank with that team? Can you afford to get a United defender instead of Collins/Love/O'Shea? That's about the only improvement I can see.

Sterling and Nolito may well need to be avoided due to Sané. Will hopefully hold the transfer though (getting Sterling out) so I can get Aguero back in easily.

Id say Sterling is safe enough for game time,he was pretty much City best player last month, poor game last game allright but that happens. They will be rotation but I dont see any reason to drop him anytime soon.
My transfer going to be Wilshire and Defoe in and then Aguero back next week.
Champions league and Europa League aswell folks so dont jump the gun just yet.

Ah OK, so you're basing a goalkeepers worth on 90 minutes of football. lol sample size.

    It wasn't my original post.

And it was somebodies opinion of City's CS potential based on a very shaky start from their new keeper. Nobody mentioned the keepers 'worth', but if you are looking for clean sheets in FPL then a new keeper looking a long way from settled in and assured is not promising.

No need for a brash reply asking him to substantiate that opinion. This is the Fantasy Sports forum not the Soccer forum.
