    Hello.

I already have a satellite dish for Sky which I want to cancel. I have been using Kodi on my laptop and want to get an Android Box so its direct on TV (chrome cast not working great). However I cannot seem to find Irish channels via Kodi which means I am now looking at getting an Android box and Saorview or better, Combi Box to get Irish (& UK) Channels. Is there any way of avoiding getting two boxes?

    Thanks.

There are only 2 boxes I know that will handle this scenario they are
The WeteK play though would need to have a usb terrestial tuner for saorview though

I am guessing that the above boxes cannot run something like OpenVix?

Not that I am aware of, they both are android based boxes, you could go down the route of something like the Mut@nt hd51 or the upper end vu+ boxes which will can have UK and Saorview aswell as a plugin to run Kodi.

    Thanks for the replies.

I didn't even know about USB terrestrial tuners (!) which is always an option with a standard android box.

Any reason why the Amiko gets RTE etc.. and the other one doesn't?

Also I saw a thread on a Ferguson Ariva box but it doesn't seem to get reviews. Are these the best alternatives?

The amiko has a single terrestrial tuner and a single sat tuner so gets both signals if hooked up.

Haven't heard much about the ferguson box so can't comment on it.

Bought the Wetek Play 2. Working nice so far. Thanks for the recommendation.

Looking at sourcing a USB for Saorview now. Do the standard ones (such as the Dual Tuner DVB-T Digital TV USB Stick on Maplin) (a) deliver HD and (b) work fine on Android?

    Thanks.

I wanted a similar setup as OP and went with the amiko combo mini for uk and irish channels and amazon fire stick for kodi upstairs.

Downstairs i have amiko combo mini and a javisbox for kodi.

    Might give people different option.

Available from most of the chinese online stores at around €80 delivered
