Sorry for OT post, but is there any chance of getting Football Final Tickets in Cork? I'd love to go and have been to a few Cork matches, the QFs, Mayo-Tipp, Tipp-Galway (hurling) and fortunately got a ticket on general sale for tomorrow but am very unsure of how to go about sourcing a football final ticket seeing as I'm not a club member.. :(

Best of luck with your search, but tickets for the football final are like gold dust. There will be little or nothing available in Cork and plenty of Dubs around to hoover anything up.

just reading the programme from the Ladies football yesterday and there is an Elaine Harte involved with the Tipp intermediate team, is this the former Cork keeper?

Yeah, she has been living in Tipperary for years, and came on board as the goalkeeping coach. Peter O Leary from Inch was coach/selector with them as well this year

Anybody at the champo matches this weekend, saw the results - Nemo beating Barrs by a small enough margin was expected with the Barrs winning the 21 county this year, very suprised to see Eire Og held by Bantry, Bandon had a good win too

Any chance of an all city senior hurling semi final line up?
Expecting Midleton, Bride Rvs, Glen and 'Rockies to come through. Douglas hammered by injuries unfortunately.

    Barr's 2-10 v Midleton 1-07 at ht

Barr's playing very well, Midleton with the wind now.

Cork 2 points down at ht

Both teams playing a sweeper and not much in it. Cork not playing particularly well, haven't really got their rhythm going, KK putting pressure on all the time. first goal will be crucial.

Very tight game. Badly needs a goal. Game destroyed by Cork playing a sweeper. Pity.

Have no choice when the other team set up that way.

Better team won, by far the hungrier. Only 4 in it at the end, despite gemma getting sent off.
Tigerish defending by KK, helped by playing 7 and 8 defenders once they got their goal.
3 in a row has eluded to girls again, over to the footballers!

KK don't usually play a sweeper. Cork do.

KK played a sweeper from the start today. Not sure why that is confusing you.

When Cork withdraw a forward Kilkenny automatically have an extra defender.

They had the option of moving their spare player foward. They didn't. They played with a sweeper aswell.

    Time to move on.

So what you're saying is that Kilkenny held their shape?!?

Anyway, what team has ever pushed up when that happens?
It would be suicidal, you reduce the space for your own forwards while leaving an acre of space for the opposition.

    Erin's own won 1-11 v 1-08 tonight.

My own club missed the opportunity to win back to back JAFC titles for the first time, losing to Dillon's aet. 4 points up entering injury time we somehow managed to throw it away, with Dillon's scoring a goal with the last kick of the game. Delanys were the better team but Dillon's were far better in extra time.
The seriously strong cross field wind ruined the game though.

Disappointing from the camogie teams. The success over the past few years has probably hidden the fact that not all is well in the camp.

Aoife Murray's comment after, directed you would think, towards a former captain and the fact there's only one milford member on the intermediate and senior team probably tells you enough.

Sorry to hear ShamoBuc, what was the venue?

Dillons knocked out Michaels fairly handy but was nip and tuck for a good chunk of the game, they seem to play very well but only in patches

Ballinlough. Dillon's are only ok, they got lucky to be honest. A big team though so they might give the county a rattle. The wind really ruined it as a spectacle though, seriously strong cross field that really didn't help either team.

Weird for Ballinlough! Normally fairly dead there, protection from the bank and both ends - assuming it was blowing from the benches across to the bank?

Yeah, from the benches to the bank, it was bad, but there was sunshine aswell, so I ended getting a big red face from the wind burn!

Who's favorite for the senior hurling now?

The Glen or Midleton. Douglas have the forwards to beat either but look poorly coached/setup.

What did she say? What is the rift or apparent one?
