    Hi All
My Audi A4 B6 tdi 130 bhp is giving me a problem . This week the temperature gauge in the car has being hitting 90 degrees almost straight away after a cold start ( left overnight ) . Now when driving it's going up to 110 degrees and the coolant symbol is flashing on the dash .
I have checked the top pipe from rad and it's hot and the lower pipe warm and the coolant level is perfect . So I believe the coolant is circulating correctly . I'm thinking it's a faulty thermostat or temp sensor .

Anyone else had this problem . Any advice would be great . It's a Friday evening and I can't get my mechanic till Monday 😭 Cheers !

Could be a faulty thermostat but as it's jumping to 90 as soon as you start it could also be the gauge. Seen it a few times, not least of which was my own A6. If you have any access to an obd reader you can see the coolant temp as is being fed from the sensor, see if it matches the reading on the dash.

The only thing is as the car begins to heat up the gauge goes from 90 up to 110 then the coolant warning flashes on the display . Funny you say the gauge because my fuel level gauge likes to jump around between half full and 1/4 full . I'm used to that issue !

Sounds like the water pump has gone.
