Easyjet Check in

I have an issue with checking in on line with easyjet.

The booking I made is for 4 people but my 3 travel companions are no longer able to go as they have to work. The airline have told me that they will charge me extra money if these other 3 passengers do not fly. so i was thinking that I would just book myself in and that would be grand

The problem is that the online check in is not allowing me to only myself in. it requires the details of the other 3 passengers before it can accept the online check in.

    It is crazy that
    1. I have to pay extra money to cancel the other 3 flight on top of already losing the money that they paid for the flight
    2. I cannot just check myself in with out their details.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you solve it?

    regards,

    Ghost

I can't speak for easyjet but I've had a similar situation in the past where my travel partner on the same booking wasn't able to fly (this was with Ryanair) so rather than say anything to the airline, I just checked them in with made up passport details (this way I get more space as well as I knew the seat beside me would be empty). There were no consequences for this, I would guess the airline just mark them down as "no shows"

    Hi Grimm2005,

Thanks a million for your advice on this.
I do find it a bit crazy that they wanted me to charge extra to cancel it. I mean they are still getting all the airfare that I paid for.

    Thanks a mill
