Did you initialise and mount the HDD ?

I put a WD Elements 500gb HDD with a OS Mini and it's working fine.

Initialize gets an error and mount crashes, in fairness its an old laptop HDD in a case, so it might be a power issue.

Are there any 2 Sat and 1 Saorview inbuilt tuners e2 receivers available for less than €200 these days?

Something that has encoding and can play the Tv Channel streams well is what I am also looking for...

Another vote for OpenVIX on the ET10000. Works very well on this box.

What's the cheapest place to buy the xtrend et10000?

Was all ready to order an Edision until this caught my eye.

That one I set up last night was bought from HM Sat.It was €199 plus €7 postage .it took 7 days to be delivered.
It's the white version and it seems to be cheaper purely based on the colour.

I've made an absolute hames of my box. I've somehow managed to get rid of all the channels. The box came pre-installed with full list of channels categorised into entertainment, movies, sports, music etc etc. I was messing about with the menu options last night and I foolishly clicked 'Update channel list' in the Update channel plug in section. Now I have zero channels. Is there an undo button?

Try auto bouquet maker to set them up again.
    In
    Menu
    Setup
    Service searching
    Run auto bouquets in there.

Sorry it is an edision mini os. It runs through Linux. It's pretty much this yoke I think.

Ah deadly. Thanks to you both. Just out of interest why did update channel list delete everything?

Hmmm. I seem to have a problem. Only options in service searching are Tuner Configuration. Automatic Scan. Blind Scan. Manual Scan. Signal Finder and Positional Setup. No sign of Run Auto Bouquets Option anywhere. Is there anywhere else I might find it?

Ordered an Xtrend ET10000 yesterday, thanks for the suggestions all. Really looking forward to getting it setup and running now. I went for 2xDVB-S2 and 2xDVB-C/T2 tuners so came to 276 euro over all including postage. hm-sat-shop.de were the cheapest I could find for it which again was suggested by a poster here so thanks for that.

Hopefully its as good as people have said now :D

Ok. Downloaded autobouquets. When you say run autobouquets do you mean press configure or start scan in the sub menu?

yes you will have to configure,
you can select an area for the channels,
ie for bbc london or N.I.
    THEN scan/start

Decided to switch from a Zero to the OS Mini dual sat tuner as it only cost me €30 to upgrade. Working fine, but loading the channel lists is a little slow. Is it the same for everyone else?

Running OpenVix with Blue HD. If I open the channel list and press the right arrow to go down a page there is a delay of around 2 seconds before the next page loads. That's the only thing bugging me, but for the extra tuner I could live with it.

The box does have the same CPU speed (742MHz) & RAM (512MB DDR3) as the Zero so it's strange I am having issues with it.

more than likely the blue skin thats slowing it down

    Doesn't seem to be :(

It's annoying me more now so I will have to try to sort it. It's so bloody slow when the channel you want is at the bottom of a bouquet.
Scrolling through bouquets is fine, but scrolling through the contents of a bouquet is the issue.

I've managed to make it a little snappier. The OS Mini did not like the USB stick I stored the EPG on, so I removed it and I am storing the EPG on the hard drive. Still a bit slow but better than before.

Still waiting on the arrival of my box but have a question for those with the Xtrend ET10000. Ideally I will out the box in a closed cabinet under the tv (with an ir repeater for the remote), with the only hole being a small one at the back for the power, satellite cables etc to get inside. Question is does the box run hot and would it be ok in a closed cabinet?

As an example there is no way I could put my xbox in the cabinet as it would overheat but xboxs do run exceptionally hot and need good ventilation/airflow.
