It's kind of annoying that you have to force close the app if you leave it running for more than five minutes in the background.

Does the Pokemon in the egg you get depend on where the Pokestop is? (I know each egg is pre determined once you get the egg).
I just cannot get a Grimer, Lickitung, Doduo or Porygon from a 5km egg despite hatching over 200 of them. I hit up the same Pokestops pretty regularly and I'm wondering should I seek out new stops.

I have just watched a youtube clip of a guy who makes pokemon go videos Trainer Tips is the youtuber and from what he saw it those not seem to matter
Do the IV's stay the same when you evolve it? I have an 8.9% IV Wartortle CP 695 and was wondering if it would be an equally terrible IV Blastoise?

There's a rarish Pokémon spawn around Fitzgerald's pub Sandycove. Have found a Grimer, Kadabra, Kabuto, Growlithe, Mr. Mime (before they were became more common) and multiple Charmander's and Pikachu's around there
Yep

Hahahaha 10 months to level 30 and 8 years to level 40.
I'm level 21 now (did a lucky egg with about 60,000XP over the weekend) and I hatched my second 10km yesterday - 1000XP Scyther. Pretty happy with that as I haven't seen one in the wild before. Since I hatched it though I've started to see it on occasion in my sightings. Strange coincidence?

I have to admit I'm also getting bored. The variety is just not enough. Currently level 21 with 70 in the pokedex, miles below most of ye. Captured 684 and I'm too lazy to do the maths now but 70% must be pidgeys, weedles and caterpies. The only new things I'm seeing now are in eggs. I just hatched another Psyduck so I finally have enough to evolve that when I drop my next lucky egg and I have enough Eevee candy for another Eeveeloution (I only have Vaporean so aiming for Jolteon this time). I have 46 Horsea candy so I should be able to evolve that soon too hopefully. I'm going to build up another 50 rodents for my lucky egg. For the other Pokemon I have I seem to be miles away from an evolution. I have precisely 22 Magicarp candy for example. Hatched 46 eggs (3 on the boil now, all 5kms) and only seen maybe 5 2kms and 2 10kms.

Do they even exist outside of eggs?

I've seen 2 shadows near the Red Cow Inn.

I have 2, never saw a shadow.
Caught a 675 one outside The Square in Tallaght last Friday...literally popped up on my map, wasnt even on 'Sightings'.....just after that I saw Mr.Mime on 'Sightings'. Caught a 1226 Pidgeot earlier too. That was a pretty good day.

Then hatched an 1175 Electabuzz last Sunday from an egg.
Moves are Low Kick and Thunderbolt, any good?

You'd be looking for Thunder Shock and Thunder.

I've seen Electabuzz shadows a few times; this morning for one. So, wild catch must be possible.

I caught an Electabuzz just off Henry St in Dublin once, across from CEX

I've caught a bunch of them across the road from Baker's corner in deansgrange.

Why when I want pidgeys and weedles to do mass evolutions I can't find any?

Just as I was reaching home Abra shows up on my sightings so I'd said I'd triangulate the wee bugger. Went 200m toward a spot he'd spawned in before then back a few hundred metres to another previous spawn, then onto to more regular random spawn points with him showing up and disappearing every so often. Finally gave up and went home only to find him immediately behind where he'd first popped up on the radar.

He had 10CP.

He didn't run though in fairness to him. I need one more to get a Kebabra but have only low CP Abras. Considering it will be Christmas 2017 before I get 100 candies and Alakazam is piss weak as a scrapper do I care? I want him off my list of shame.
Yeah, I feel the same about getting a Butterfree. I know one would be rubbish for battling, but I want to get one just to get it cleared off the list.

Had a good evening walking the dog. 4 new additions to the Pokedex - a Marrowak, Dodrio, Omanyte and then a beauty of a Venusaur popped up randomly. Hatched two 2k eggs, too - Spearow and Pidgey..

Nice, what CP?

Only 700 odd but I'm gonna check it's IV tomorrow and if it's decent I'll power him up.

Even better if he has Solar Beam. With the abundance of water mons here, I'd power him up for the Solar Beam alone. Plus since he's a Grass type, water attacks will be "Not very effective" against him. Which is sadly not the case with Electric types.

Have a 2100CP+ Exeggutor which I was hoping would absolutely wreck water mons, unfortunately he ended up with Psychic, not Solar Beam :(

I've had four Electabuzz from 10km eggs, but caught four more wild ones last week, had only ever seen him nearby once before that. Spawn rate definitely seems to have increased. I caught him twice where I used to see Jynx a lot, so I wonder if they've swapped them around.
Even caught one at the top of my road where the most exotic Pokemon are usually a Drowsee!

• Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,040 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

Yep, Jynx spawn changed to electrabuzz last week.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2016/08/23/pokemon-go-spawning-nests-have-just-changed-worldwide-yet-again/?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=yahootix&partner=yahootix&yptr=yahoo#632a829e287f

I've never seen a Jynx so this doesn't augur well.

I presume it's a wet climate Pokemon like Jynx and Drowzee

I've caught three or four electrabuzzes around Custom House Quay and Busaras over the past couple of weeks. If you're in the area its worth having a look, but spawns may have changed with the last migration, can't recall seeing any on my sightings over the past few days

Does anybody know of a definite Dratini nest or frequent spawn point, preferably on the Dart line? I've been struggling to find many, usually just the odd one here and there.

I know Dratinis spawn in Dun Laoghaire along the East pier as I've been there myself. Others have mentioned along the quays in the City Centre earlier in this thread too.

I'll try scanning the quays and see what comes up but I've only ever seen one near grand canal. I wasn't aware they were regulars in Dun Laoghaire.

Dun Laoghaire was the first time I caught a Dratini and is an excellent place for water Pokemon in general, e.g. Magikarp, Staryu, Poliwag etc.

How much Dratini candy do you have so far?
