Qualities You Like About Yourself

    What are your best characteristics?

I'm not talking about your extravagant beauty or your ten-inch penis, I'm interested in your best personality traits. We're pretty good at being down on ourselves and giving much weight to our failings, so it'd be nice to think about the good things in ourselves.

I'm very even-tempered and easy to get along with. I've other good qualities like loyalty and punctuality and humour, and I'm told I'm kind-hearted, but I think being even-tempered has been a real advantage in life for me. I'm also good in a crisis and decisive under pressure, and am usually the one people turn to when the nasty stuff hits the fan.

I've loads of failings too, in case someone accuses me of a big head, but this is about acknowledging our positives.

    What's absolutely great about you?

Nope, nobody is. Even though I know I'm Godwinning my own thread, even Hitler loved animals. :)

All? It must be hard to find clothes to suit you.

I'm so cute, I'm jealous of my wife.

I am incredibly, ridiculously good at being modest. If modesty was an Olympic event I would win it every four years. But I would give the medal to somebody else, because I'd be too modest to accept it.

Hitler had a partner, an OH, a missus if you will!

I don't, therefore I am literally less desirable to the female species than Hitler. So, based on that I don't think I have many 'qualities' to speak of.......

Strong minded and determined. When my friends are getting drunk, I take minerals and enjoy the night and the day after : ) Despite the constant taunts to take a drink (which seems to piss guys off more so). I rather concentrate on my fitness training and sports than getting drunk and sleeping around : )

Not drinking and smugness aren't really personality qualities though....

I like that I'm the opposite of Niamh Stokes

I'm an IT tech support technician who doesn't hate the users I support. I come from a training background and my students all say they like me and my courses. Kids like me because I try to see things their way, I tell them the truth, and I don't talk down to them. People seek me out for someone to listen to them and advise them. I get along especially well with people with Asperger's. This is all despite being someone with Asperger's myself. It wasn't easy.

I should have known it'd turn out badly. :(

You don't get drunk or get the ride?
    Great night out with you.

I'm flexible, hard working, reliable and put others first. I'm a listener and a loyal person. Not perfect by any means of course.

Thank you, that's what I'm after.

It's gas we feel the need to add the modest qualifier, lest someone think we appreciate the good in ourselves. I did it too. :)

I see Irish drink culture is alive and well!! - so much slagging just because somebody wants to look after their health. And before you say "it's not the tee-total aspect, it's the smugness I object to," this thread is about promoting your good qualities, so why shouldn't she. Fair play Niamh, don't mind the haters.

I'm a non-drinker too Niamh, but you're giving us a bad rep when you get all sanctimonious about it! You need new friends btw.

I currently don't drink, so I don't agree that my post came from the "Irish drink culture".
My point is that not drinking isnt a good personality trait, its just something you do.
I don't take drugs either, and I wouldnt shout about how deadly I am for that.

Oh, I trust those around me to tell me I'm "too shy" and "need to assert myself more". Never fails. I came home from three weeks of talking myself hoarse in front of thirty engineers in a computer-equipped classroom in Colombia, nearly all of whom were at best mostly competent in English and resentful that they had a female trainer, nearly having missed my flight home because the cab driver attempted to kidnap me (sorry, I know where the Bogota airport is in relation to the hotel), and my friends still tried to tell me I was weird for not wanting to go out with them to a party at a male strip club. OK, fine, I admit it, I'm a weird nerdy Aspie with a mouth on me. Maybe that's a good quality too :)

She wasn't saying her good personality trait was not drinking. She said she was: "Strong minded and determined" - and gave an example where she refused to bow to pressure to drink from her friends. Something more people in Ireland should do, IMO.

For what it's worth, a night at a male strip club would be one of my worst nightmares too. Keep being a mouthy weird nerd if it means you never get cornered into doing something you don't want to do, or compromise where you shouldn't. :)

Yeah I think people who get drunk every weekend need a life actually haha

    Wait! Here I am! :pac:

I'm fiercely loyal. If I care about you then I will walk through fire to make sure you're ok. I will stand up for you and be by your side. We are becoming more and more disconnected from ourselves and each other thanks to the risk of social media and smart phones. Making connections means a lot to me. I like this about myself. I like that I'm interested beyond the superficial.

My sentimentality can be a bit ott at times but life can make us hard and that hasn't happened to me. I'm pretty pleased about that. I'm funny and am fond of my weirdness. I have at times too much compassion but I wouldn't change it for the world. My intuition is razor sharp and I sometimes feel like I can see inside the other person. Maybe it's an energy thing. I haven't figured it out yet but something happens.

I make a grand cup of tae. The most important part :)

I like my sense of humour. I like the way I've got hobbies that take me outdoors unlike my mates. I like that no matter what I eat I've always stayed in relatively decent shape. Been in between 14-16 stone since 18. And at 6"3 it suits me.
Hate my fûcking chicken legs. I look off with being top heavy and having skinny legs. Kinda like a giraffe. Haha

The rest is window dressing, this is what really matters!
