Most people over 40 are advised to get their cholesterol checked once every couple of years.

Yep, get them on statins and low cholesterol diets so they can waste away with Alzheimers and other neurological conditions in their 60s. Things like Alzheimers and Parkinson's are going through the roof and there is a reason for that. Not uncommon now for people in their 50s to develop Alzheimer's, unheard of less than a couple of decades ago.

It is uncommon, but it happens, which used to be unheard of, as you say.

    I didn't realise this.

I might try this route instead.

10 ways to lower cholesterol naturally

Have you any evidence you can share to specifically support the claimed increase in incidence of Alzheimer's disease in 50-60 year olds?

I read somewhere that over the age of 40, you are advised to go to the doctor for a check up every year or two? Not many people do that?

Would a voluntary NHT every two years after 40 for the same price as car NCT benefit people?. You could have government subsidies and reduced health insurance for anyone that partook

Would it make people mindful of their health, the same way they are mindful of the health of their cars?

Or is that a bit Orwellian?

So would you have to go back if you're not in good nick? What if you have something wrong with your exhaust or emissions?

It wouldn't be any harm for individuals of all ages to have a mandatory health checkup every year.

Not only that but have a mandatory IQ test as well. Those who fail the test get put to sleep and their organs donated.

How do you fail an IQ test?

I mean, an IQ test measures relative intelligence levels across a population, so that in any group the scores will range across a spectrum where 100 will always be the average. It is a means for measuring relative intelligence, there are no standards for passing and failing (if there is, tell me what constitutes a "fail" in an IQ test). That's what IQ tests measure. If you start killing people who "fail" it (by which I presume you mean score below a certain level) then you run into a bit of a problem.

While you're getting ready to take my liver, I'll explain it: if you have 100 people and decide to kill the 10 who score below, say 80, you'll have 90 people when the test is taken the following year, and will have to kill the 9 people who score below 80. And so on...the bar for "failing" which you have arbitrarily set will always have the same percentage of people below it.

But of course, a couple of geniuses like yourselves already knew that, right...?

This is an extremely offensive post.

It's basically suggesting the Holocaust. That's not cool, don't do that.

Why are you attacking me? You are the one who pointed out initially it was a bad idea to suggest such a thing.

You are wrong to suggest I didn't understand him or what he meant. I really don't care what you think now.

Just seemed a bit of an overreaction that's all. I'm not attacking you. That also seems like an overreaction.

I think it's a great idea. It would be great if they could make a machine that could scan you in 5 seconds and pick up anything that's not right.

There already are full body scans but many doctors think that they're more harm than they're worth.

They tend to show up things that look suspicious, people understandably freak out and go through further tests and procedures to have them investigated and put their bodies through substantial trauma and stress, only to find out that either there was nothing there in the first place, or it was harmless enough that they could have lived with it for the rest of their lives without it causing any more problems.
