Ford Powerstar Engines

I recently fitted a 7740 engine to a Ford 7610 which has been a great success. I also have a Roadless 65 which I am hoping to put a 6640 engine into. This requires the old sump to be kept as the axle hinges off the sump (same as thousand series upto 10 series 2wd and zf axles etc). Does anyone know how this can be done because the 6640 balancer wont fit into the old 5000 sump?

This was also the case in the 7610 but the carraro does not require the hinge therefore the 40 series sump could be kept with its engine. Also would a 7740 be too much horsepower for the 5000 transmission and Roadless front axle?
    Thanks
