Im reading a lot of thoughts on liverpool mids here and moreso on FFS. I think people are being overly influenced by both of their results one way or the other. Liverpool are inconsistent but in FF terms thats fairly irrelevant unless you are going to consider captaining one of them. If getting a liverpool mid you need to stick it out for a few weeks. Its a bit like bale before he became consistent people would regularly complain about him as they would buy him after a double digit haul only for him to blank for the next 3 and then they would sell before the next haul. In the calender year 2016 up till last weekend liverpool had scored the most league goals was a stat I read. Its fairly irrelevant in FF terms if in the middle of that run they are capable of losing to any team in the league and that they cant defend. The evidence over a substantial time period is that there is goals in the team. My advice is if you pick a liverpool mid stick with it for 4/5 weeks.
Firmino for example last season averaged a goal or an assist every 100 mins last season.

After pondering for a while last night of who to replace Firmino with as he was dropping, it was this advise I took. I chose him for a reason at the start and will stick for a bit. Goal midweek and he's still quality, just taking a while to get going. Fingers crossed !

How likely is Holgate to keep his starting position in Everton's defense? They have some nice fixtures over the next few weeks if they could tighten up at the back and at 4.5 he is a bargain if he is going to start every week.

    Same but 2 FT
They were not on the list though ! May use the 2 FT and wildcard after all then
Was planning on rolling one and not playing WC yet

Same but with 2 FT......already used

Moved Vardy to get Zlatan but was 0.1m short so swapped VVD out for Stones.

Hopefully one of that quartet makes a productive appearance this weekend

Capoue came off the bench v Gillingham in the league cup this week - I'd say he'll be ok right?

I'll have to keep Gray. Don't mind it if he is suspended for Chelsea game. Can live with that.

His yellow injury warning is gone which is positive. I was actualyl planning on starting him ahead of Gray this week anyway, is that madness?

Having swapped Mhkytaran (sp?) out for Martial, I've also decided to sell Rhodes. Was hoping he'd be a bolter this season but he can't get a look in at all it seems, didn't even get a run out in the Cup.
Brought Stuani in for him to offset the price drop as he has a drop of his own and seems to be playing as a winger rather than fighting Nugent and Negredo for a starting spot.

Focus will shift to Townsend this week now.

Is that not a bad kind of oop?

Giving one of your striker spots to a winger, assuming that is his position, haven't watched many highlights.

Looks like it for the time being at least

possibly Friend->Souare depending on Friend injury update. current backline is Valencia/Friend/Amat/Wilson/Love so want to make sure i have 3 starters! Palace fixtures nice also and Souare pretty nailed at LB

Looks like it for now but would expect Koeman to bring someone in before the window closes so I'd be ready to transfer out fairly soon.

Really don't know what to do with Evans/Friend/Payet and Fabregas. I'm hoping Payet and Fabregas will start at the weekend, but I don't think it's likely. Also want to get Hazard and Barkley in, but it'll take a few transfers to get them..

Ok which 4.5 midfielder should I go with

Fletcher (leaning towards but 3 points is prob most get from him)
    Holjberg (already have Redmond though)
Rodwell (is he guaranteed to start?)
    Barry (card machine)

Fletcher will pretty much guarantee 2 or 3 points a game - reliable option if he is to be on the bench for the season.

Out of them I'd be interested in Hojbjerg but he doesn't come without risk of not playing though depending how he plays he could end up being a dream 4.5 bencher. Sticking with my used to be 4.5er Capoue myself.

I had Hojberg myself, didn't know a lot about him, still don't. Only thing I can offer is I saw the Saints playing United and from what I could see it looks like he was a defensive midfielder, sitting deep trying to dictate tempo, so not much chance of many attacking returns just judging that tiny sample!

I'm .1 off Redmond using two FTs so I'll have to be content with being terrified of him this week, the one player I really want. Gonna go Ake to Wilson and Gray to Negredo I think

Have 2 free & need to use one. Thinking of downgrading Townsend to Bolasie for a .5 saving. Thoughts?

    Foster

    -Stones -- Shaw -- Souare

    Townsend -- Haz -- Redmond -- Lamela

    --- Zlat -- Aguero -- Vardy

    --- Jaku -- Smith -- Amat -- Capoue --

Romeu was playing deeper than him. When he got injured Hojbjerg took over his job.

what do people think of getting rid of Mahrez? Hold this week and get rid for liverpool?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 487 ✭✭Thatsfootball

As said above, is it worth getting rid of Mahrez to get Ibra in?

    Mahrez - Barkley
    Vardy - Ibra

Using 2 FT's? Leicester home to Swansea doesn't look good when dumping both!

Would hold Townsend this week - think he'll come good. Maybe just Smith to Love or Marc Wilson if you want to get a 4. m def more likely to play.

Have 2 FTs so moving Routledge on but not sure to follow the trend of Capoue or gamble on Snodgrass? There's 1 million in the difference is Snodgrass to expensive at 5.6 for a 5th mid? Have no Watford or Hull players currently

I've no idea what to do with my team. 2FT but I got very favourable fixtures except for Firmino
    De Gea
    Bailly Terry Stones
    Mahrez Firmino Redmond Townsend
    Rondon Vardy Aguero

    Jakpovic Friend Amat Fletcher.

Would get rid of Mahrez or Vardy but home to Swansea, may get rid of Stones but hard to see for who.
