Caught an Onix on my way home from work today

He was at the entrance to Santry park. Only 215CP but happy enough as i only saw his shadow for the first time passing by the place yesterday morning!

Only vulpix I'd seen till last night was in an egg. Have since caught 5 sat on my couch. Think I now live in a vulpix nest

Isnt alakazam just an evolution so just lots of bloody patience and Abra required?
How did you get around the region specific pokes....or are you ignoring them?

I have two Eevees and have enough candies to evolve one. I was automatically going to evolve the one with the higher CP but when I input the info into thesilphroad.com the lower CP one is apparently a better mon. So should I be evolving the lower CP one or stick with the higher one?

They're both pretty bad, I'm only level 16. One is 257cp and the other is 316. Probably not going to make much difference really, but I'm trying to understand the best way to do this for when I progress a bit.

I would tell you to hold off then. If you are level 16 then you wont be long getting up to level 18-20 and at that point you will be seeing higher CP Eevee's soon enough. Save the candy for them.

The best you will get is a ~900 Vaporeon from the 316 Eevee.

EDIT: just saw my first ever Mr.Mine shadow.....but its gone midnight and Im in about to go to bed so he can feck off.

Yes as the moves reset and are random after evolution

There are what's known as IV's (Individual Values) for Attack, Defense and Stamina. Even if they are the same pokemon, they'll have varying IV's. Some better than others.

Given a choice between 2 similar CP pokemon, you'd want to evolve the one with better IV's, even if it has slightly lower CP.

If the one with better IV is considerably lower CP wise though, then I'd just evolve the higher CP one. Particularly if you're just a casual player. Unless you fancy the grind to gather the candies and stardust needed to power it up substantially.

Went to bull island today and caught sweet f.a.

Except for a very low cp vulpix at the start and an even lower cp (10) pikachu. I was glad of that, only my 2nd.

Spent rest of the evening next to several lure parties and caught only standard vermin over nearly 2 hours. Tedious.
Mr Mime did pop up though, thankfully

Went out for a bit today, hatched 3 eggs. Only sandshrew and cubone were the new/decent ones. Then went to the first local lure party this evening..lures dropped on 3 stops that were practically next to each other. Had that going for 2 hours..few decent ones from that. All the "rare" ones I caught were low cp, poliwhirl (62), Persian (21). A 1k hypno also spawned for my friend. Good evening though, managed to level up 2.5 levels and took down a fair few of the cheater's gyms.

A lot of people are saying that certain spots are only good at specific times. For example the village with a hundred species only gets good between 00.30 and 03.00. I've noticed the park is absolutely Mon free between 7 and 8 in the morning. Is that the case with places like Bull Island?

I noticed that the roundabout before you hit the beach has the most Pokemon and the beach itself has feck all; at least during the day.

I captured a Vulpix, Growlithe, Wigglytuff and a slew of others all around the roundabout with 6 Pokemon constantly appearing in my sightings list. In comparison, I was lucky to get even 3 Pokemon appear on my sightings list while walking half the length of the beach. With that said, Staryu, Magikarp and Psyduck did appear on the beach so there's that.

Most of my city spots have been decommissioned and the country road the bus goes along has a load more stuff like growlithe, cubone, alakazam, snorlax and whatever this shadow is...

Frustrating ride not being able to catch them but I can go back on the bike some day.

Tried to catch a 1000+ Golbat just now but I could not.make contact in twenty attempts. How exactly do you hit those things?
