White plastic sockets or metal?

    Have an Electrician doing minor upgrade works in a commercial kitchen and is putting in additional white plastic sockets. Are these ok or do they have to be the metal ones which we already have? He says they're fine but someone mentioned the white plastic ones are domestic and not suitable.

    Anyone know of a Regulation or BS number that can confirm they have to be metal?

    From an electrical perspecitive:
    In the absence of a project specific specification or scope of work document either metal or plastic sockets can be used once the electrician ensures compliance with the National Rules of Electrical Installations (ET101:2008).

    Assuming that the commecial kitchen is in the 26-Counties I can't see how British Standards compliance would be relevant.

    Are switch heights still between 900-1200 mm, any major changes in the domestic regs in the past 3-4 months?
