Why is he so much quicker after the last hurdle? Is it that he no longer has to manage his stride and can just open up?

The Brownlees are clear of the field in the Triathlon, looks like they will get their 1-2 this time.

Yes, and at 24 he's nowhere near his peak yet. Looks like he's the best runner in Europe over the distance already.

What great representatives we've had in Tom Barr, Annalise Murphy and the o'Donovan brothers.

4th, 2nd and 2nd in the world with two chances in the modern pentathlons.

That's before even mentioning the rest who've gone well. Boxing aside it's been great for Team Ireland. Hickey getting his comeuppance only adds to that.

The Turkish policy of buying in athletes from all over the place is ridiculous. The guy probably can't even speak a word of Turkish. It's virtually meaningless to be representing a country you've no connection to.

She's right! Azerbaijan are just as bad buying in athletes (they even make them change their names to Azeri ones.....you couldn't make it up)
