    10k on track
Been a long distance road runner for a long time and run 5k track.

It's alright to be suspicious, but that fact in particular is moot.

She has world ranking time for 10k on the road since at least 2010.

That record stood for over 20 years I think. Only 3 sub 30 minute ever, 5 in this race. 17 seconds better but only started racing this event recently.

I think Sonia is absolutely correct t to question it.

I am confident in the years ahead we might be reading some of those names for a different reason.

Ah see this is the reason why the rest of the world cannot respect Kiwi Supporters. Bad Winners and very bad losers. I can respect the likes of McCaw, Carter et al, they carry themselves around with a bit of respect but Kiwi fans are some of the most pig ignorant deluded narcissistic fools you will ever meet when it comes to sport and especially rugby. Odd because in general day to day life they are ok but when it comes to sport, its Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde stuff.

Not sure what all those video's proof by the way. It is not exactly that the Kiwi's are all gold and that their ****e smells of roses.

Congrats to the West Cork boys.

    i dont understand?

i wrote team gb? what did your post prior to this mean?

all i said was id love to see rory lash him now on twitter.

    Rory didn't need to.

Paddy took the p*ss out of himself by asking Rory if he needed a caddy the evening he was knocked out of the boxing.

She has world ranking time for 10k on the road since at least 2010.

Still doesn't take away from the fact she is completely inexperienced when it comes to 10k track and just seemed to easily overtake every other competitor.
If you're not suspicious about that, you'll never be suspicious about anything.

Looking at various forums, it appears many of the TV commentators in the stadium were uncomfortable watching the 10,000m race. The Belgians, Germans, Australians all struggling to explain the performance. Apparently Cram on BBC not as enthusiastic as Brendan Foster.

Sonia is shockingly poor in front of camera.

Sonia is the only one on RTE that is analysing that race honestly. She's awkward in front of the camera because she can't say what she want to say.

If anyone thinks different, have a google of the previous record holder, Wang Junxia, and have a wonder why her record has lasted so long, and why it was beaten so comprehensively.

    Where is Jerry Kiernan??

He's Ciara Mageean's coach and her race is this evening I think? So he might be a bit busy.

Good grief. What on earth am I reading here?

his contention on yesterdays episode was that because of the public nature of the joke he didn't have any choice other than to take it well. inevitable blowback with a negative riposte from sponsors and twitter etc.

anything exceptional now comes with small print.

Sounds far fetched to say the least...but it's too trivial to be bothered one way or the other.

the videos were in response to the post saying " it couldn't be further from the truth" that fiji were dirty.

i pulled those videos up in about three minutes off the top of my head which one could therefore make the inference that indiscretions were indeed infact quite prevalent in fiji rugby.

well it warranted professional journalists spending the opening of their show talking about.

I don't think Rory, with all his money and majors and fiancée was all that bothered by it all, to be honest. Why would he be?

If she was doping you'd think she wouldn't bring such obvious attention to herself.

She did say what she wanted to say though. She doesn't seem very good at expressing herself properly for TV. I don't think it was just the content.

She's been on TV lots over the years and she's fine, today was just awkward.

Well I think a large part of the doping is so you can get the attention. No point in doping to come 4th. Even a good time helps her as it would bring advertising money afterwards.

Didn't see the race and have 0 knowledge of the athlete so I have no idea if she is clean or not!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,657 ✭✭✭Choochtown

    Well done Sonia!

I'd imagine she suspects a lot more than she could say on live tv.

As an ex elite athlete with many contacts and friends in the sport and married to an international coach, she will be very very informed regarding what is and what is not a "clean" performance

What does money or majors have to do with it? He was personally mocked in public. Of course that's going to affect someone.

To be honest I don't blame anyone starting a show about a couple of tweets. It's a really quiet time for sport right now.
