Has happened a few times to me. Fix seems to be force shut app, turn on airplane mode, open app, turn off airplane mode.

Guys my game wont connect on data with 3 has anyone else had this problem, on wifi it connects no bother like, but thats no good when I want to go for wander around town and collect pokeballs at stops.
Like it shows the map Im on but pokestops, gyms and pokemon dont show up

I really love all the pidgeys and the caterpies and the weedles and the rattatas and the eevees and the drowzees and the zubats that appear in droves no matter where I go and that I waste a ****e load of balls on them for them to dash off anyway.

Yes, the same for me with 3; would work for 10 minutes then no stops or pokemon in the finder. After a few hours it would work for a few minutes again then the same problem.

The game crashed several times on me today, pokestops disappearing completely off the map, pokeballs spawning off screen in the catching minigame, not getting drops from pokestops and being told not to play while driving whilst standing completely still.

My android version updated itself last night and I'm pretty sure it's this current patch causing the problems. Makes the game almost unplayable.

You know how you're supposed to wait until you've a load of evolutions to do before using your lucky eggs

Will you get more exp by evolving 4 pidgeys in pidgeottos instead of 1 pidgeotto into a pidgeot ? Same with others like weedle, is it better to do more evolutions?

You get a bonus for evolving something for the first time, but that aside a pidgeot is as good as a pidgeotto in terms of gaining levels.

Has anyone noticed that it's now possible, since the update yesterday, to catch a Pokemon almost immediately, i.e. without having to wait for the Pokeball to shake 3 times? It's happened to me a few times today already.

Yeah I've mainly noticed this when the connection drops/struggles during the catch. This previously used to result in the dreaded frozen ball glitch, but I haven't had any frozen balls since the update, instead it lags a second and goes straight to either 'Gotcha!' or 'The Pokemon broke free!', which is definitely better than freezing!

Yeah with a lucky egg active you would get 4,000XP for evolving 4 Pidgeottos, rather than just 1,000XP for evolving a single Pidgeot. If you haven't caught or evolved a Pidgeot before, then you will get a one time 1,000XP bonus.

But even then that's 4,000XP vs 2,000XP, so you still get more from the Pidgeottos. However, I would still do it just once for the new entry in the pokedex. After that, Pidgeottos all the way.

Same with Weedles and Caterpies. Evolve 1 Beedrill and 1 Butterfree just for the new entries in the pokedex and then just stick to Kakunas and Metapods.

Lol mine was only 140 when I evolved one. I powered it up to 160 though before evolving.

Spent a few more hours catching more karps even after I already had 400 candies to find a stronger one, but alas it wasn't to be. You've already done pretty well to find that 150

I was level 22 at the time, now I'm 26 and have roughly 200 candies again. But my best one is only 165

Doubt I'll find a better one before I reach 400 again.

The one with the better IV's will be slightly stronger. For example a 2,000CP Gyarados with better IV's will do more damage in a gym battle against the same opponent, than a 2,000CP Gyarados with worse IV's.

But if the CP gap is large, then I wouldn't bother with it. Like if you had a 110CP Magikarp with better IV's, I would still go with the 150CP Magikarp even if it has worse IV's. A 110CP Magikarp will evolve into a roughly 1,160CP Gyarados, whereas the 150CP one will evolve to roughly 1,580CP.

That's a gap of more than 400CP. I'd imagine the 1,580CP Gyarados with worse IV's will still be stronger. Unless of course you spend stardust on powering up the one with better IV's to a similar CP range to other one. It's up to you if you think it's worth spending stardust on.

All these problems are to do with server side changes Niantic made in an attempt to limit/stop the use of bots. They aren't to do with the app updating on your phone. If there is a significant number of people playing legitimately with the same IP address they will all be blocked. I never thought they'd be so stupid to use IP blocking but they have.

Just reached level 22. Up to 101 in the pokedex now, very close to slowbro, gyarados, dewgong, weezing and electrode candies. could evolve squirtle but i'm waiting on a higher level one before i do.

Missing a few of the 5km egg pokemon like growlithe, lickitung and duduo so contemplating buying a few incubators.
