I really wouldn't try an app like that because if it goes directly to the Niantic servers it will be the same IP as your normal account and you may be flagged as a possible bot.

It's one thing to use something like pokevision which won't be tracked you your own account / IP but I wouldn't try it with something that may link to my account.

What happens then? Do they perma ban you? I thought it was just a temp ban at best?

It's really getting annoying looking for pokes on your nearby list without any sort of tracker. I'll take my chances with a scanner if it's only a temp ban they dish out.

Can say with confidence airports are pretty great for Pokemon Go, between stops, Pokemon, people placing lures and gyms. Been in four airports the last two days. Schipol was best. Dublin too. The other two were small.

It would be tough for them to implement IP bans, if I use an app like that from my work WiFi, do they ban everyone on the WiFi? Same if someone connects using a public WiFi.

But what other information is needed? What account ID is it using? Does it send you device ID, imsi or any other identifying information?

The scanners in general only send your account ID by way of identifying info and Niantic could obviously get the IP.
So I would suspect that accounts used for scanners will be banned, but I can't see them banning the IP.
This of course is just my opinion, and not a guarantee that you can safely use scanners :D

Got my first Pikachu last night. Not a very strong one (CP=340). How rare are these things?

Rare enough I think. Yet to see anyone with a Raichu. I'm level 22 and have seen 8 and caught 7 (one was from an egg)

Did you see any before you got to level 20?

I've a Raichu, caught it in the wild. It's pretty useless though. Only 890CP and it's 2nd move is Brick Break, not Thunder

Oh well at least I have it unlocked in the Pokedex now.

Yeah, 3 or 4. I've only been above level 20 for about a week so most of it was before then I think

I think GoRadar is OK for now:
The data used in Go Radar is all user submitted and completely safe. We never interact with Niantic servers.

It's also the No1 free ioS app at the moment. If it was a problem, Niantic would have intervened like with Pokevision etc.

I have 2 from 2k eggs. Makes a proper sound when you press it in your pokemon list

Levels have nothing to do with the Pokemon you see. Level only affects CP/HP.

I have a feeling that Pokemon with high iV are the most likely to escape. So it doesn't matter about their current CP.

All I've ever got from 2k eggs are Pidgey Weedle and Rattata :( My 10k egg got me an Eevee. Eggs arent good to me

I struggle with eggs because, although I do a lot of walking every day, my phone can only run this game for an hour at most before I have to recharge. The low battery warning comes on with 40% remaining. Then it shuts down within a few seconds. When I restart it I have 0% remaining and it of course shuts down again.

Only ever happens with pokemon go.

I get similar (Samsung S4?) The solution being to buy an external battery and leave it plugged in when I go Pokemonning.

A Lapras popped up on Pearse St. at lunchtime today

It was >1600 CP for my colleagues at lower trainer levels but a measly 39CP for me at level 24........not sure why that is

Samsung Galaxy Alpha in my case. I've ordered a replacement battery, will see how that goes.
