Yeah got mine there. You raise a great point as I tried Mizuno's and Asics but the Saucony were the best fit for me. Fit really is individual and it makes so much sense to get fitted in-store rather than buy a new brand "blind".

Couldn't say enough nice things about Amphibian King. Went in on spec one sunny Friday afternoon and was just by chance that shop was quiet and the girl working there gave me circa 15-20 mins to find right shoes. That included running up and down their mini track to have full analysis done. All the while other customers were coming in and getting told they would have to wait or book an appointment.. I was nearly embarrassed at how well they looked after me! Will definitely be going back for more gear there in future... though on this occasion I got a good discount code for Adidas..:P

My Lidl didn't even get any of the Marathon packs or gels in

Got mine in Lidl Nutgrove and was good stock there at lunchtime.

For anyone that missed it.. this is same box on CRC for just €3 more, still a great deal and I think this will get free delivery too:

Szilvike rest up and take care, a week isn't too bad - I felt great when I cam back after a couple of days rest :)

Weird one - I keep getting a dead leg when I run.. It happened last week and I took 4 days off running. Done my 14 mile LSR on Monday no probs. Last night I got the pain again almost as soon as I started running, when I'd stop and stretch it would stop for a while and then gradually return. I done 6 miles - it was more annoying than painful.
I Googled today and it looks like either a pulled tendon or a trapped nerve - has anyone any experience of this?
I've emailed my physio so waiting to hear back from her too, I really want to do the R&R half this weekend, but will follow her orders. :(

I need to find a flatter training route, I don't think running hills and trails is doing me much good for marathon training.

Hey Kittyclaws, this happened me a while back. It felt like all the power had gone from my leg and it was kinda pins and needly. Went to the physio who said it was piriformis related. He did a huge amount of work on my glutes, have me some exercises and fingers crossed I've had no reoccurrence. So hopefully it's something simple like this you have too :)

Hurt my calf, physio session complete with dry needling which was a new kind of fun.
I've been told to take a week off and build back up in the swimming pool then work on grass for a week. Full running in two weeks. Hopefully back stronger after the break

Looks like I will be ploughing a lonely furrow in the Phoenix Park for my LSR tomorrow....hoping to get the 16 miles done before the R&R 5k kicks off at 1100

Thank you, I can't get a physio appointment until next week - but she advised I try a run and if I've no pain go ahead and run the R&R - all as LSR's.
I did a pool run and some swimming last night, it feels fine, I'm aware it's not 100% but there's no pain.
I'll go for the 5k tomorrow and decide on the half afterwards. I'll start at the back so I'm not tempted to take off - 5k's are my downfall!

(Lots of marathon packs this morning in the Lidl in Fortunestown Lane, Tallaght, even some reduced packs in their sale section from the last time they were in!)

Yeah it's some queue. You can skip the queue if you are only collecting your tec top

I was in and out - collected my 3 numbers, two wristbands and my tshirt. Seems to be much more efficient than earlier - looks like lots of confusion on their FB page.

I managed to get my hands on the last 2 marathon pack at my local lidl and tried them out today.just want to make sure my stomach will be ok and the HIGH5 is much better than the others I have tried. Did 9 miles today as my LSR as OT is away for weekend. Had one before and one at half way. Was far easier to open, tasted less like a melted ice lolly and I actually felt it effects. Ran nice and steady and could have kept going.

Best of luck to anyone doing the RnR this weekend. Looks like fun😀

Is there a goody bag or just the t shirt and nos? Buddy was convinced there was a goody bag to pick up! Good luck tomorrow Kitty... look forward to hearing about it. What's the weather going to be like?

Re the whole 'not getting obsessed with the time' thing, have thought about putting some tape over my watch - just the time part, not the pace...:P

There was no goodie bag last year either. Lots of goodies at finish line but no bag... that I remember.

Someone mentioned wristbands... I didn't get any. What are they for?

Sitting down having breakfast this morning at 0620 thinking I must be mad! Got the gear on and drove down to the Phoenix Park....saw some lad out running on the way so began to think I am not the only mental one!

Good old Radio Nova had " Rocks" by Primal Scream on for the journey so that go me woken up!

16 miles done and dusted! Great to get it done.Plenty running in the park even at 0730 this morning.

Good luck to all running and racing....
Looks like the R&R ones will be stocking up on Walkers Crisps at the end.....there was pallets of them at the finish line today.

Enjoy the weekend and get the water into you if you are running tomorrow it was warm out there this morning

Just back from 16 mile LSR and I have to say I'm really feeling the benefits of running consistently and following a plan.
I wasn't in the mood for a long run this morning but forced myself out the door and said I'd go for a few miles anyway.
I had 7 miles done before I knew it and the next 11 were a breeze. I probably ran a bit faster than I should have but I felt like I could've ran much faster and gone another 10 miles. I didn't take on any water or fuel either.
I'm quietly confident, all going well between now and then, that if I continue to train as I am that the marathon day will be a good day!
Best of luck to all doing the RnR half tomorrow and to people doing their long runs today, beautiful day out there!

Just in from my 16 mile lsr. It's very warm. I found the going tough today. No fueling and i really noticed the difference, I had feck all left in the tank for the last mile, but it's done.

    16 miles @ 11.29 pace

16.5m LSR this morning, my last long run in Spain. I was up at 5 and out just before 6 and it was already 23 degrees with very little breeze. Found the last mile and a half pretty tough, but I'm still amazed that I can plod along without stopping for nearly 3 hours :)

We'll done everyone on their LSR's, looks like most had encouraging runs. Good luck to those racing this weekend.

I also got my 16 miles done this morning. Avg pace 10:18. I had a good run, could've kept going. It was a beautiful morning, sunny and warm and now it's raining :( It's great to see the miles clocking up.

Wristbands are for collecting the Remix medal tomorrow- they show you've ran both days.
Looks like a lot of people didn't get one, there was a que at the solutions tent today to pick one up. I'm sure you won't have a problem getting one tomorrow.

That was tough, set off at 2pm and ran around the Phoenix park. 350ml and water and a gel kept me going @ 9:57 avg pace for the 16 miles.

Didn't eat any meat yesterday and the usual porridge, coffee and banana before the run.

    I think I'll have a bath
