Hey all. Stupid question, but I can't find the answer on Google (may be Googling stupidly also). Do you have to stay in range of a gym to complete a battle?

Started a battle today and beat the first guy. Went onto the second only to be told that the gym was out of range. Got a battle point alright though.

Surely I don't have to stand in the middle of a street for the entire battle? I mean - I'll do it and all but... :p

Is everybody starter pokemon the exact same? I picked a bulbasaur xl 11.62kg xl 0.88m.

I went Charmander, but yes, I got an XL fella aswell, crap CP though, only 52.

Just on eggs, I know it's possible hatch Tauros from a 5km in Europe. Anyone know if it's also possible to get Kangaskhan or Farfetch'd?

Unfortunately you have to stay in range.

Thanks! Ahhhh. So, is this a legitimate reason to be late for work then?

My starter was only 14 cp so thats a difference.

This is so stupid. There's absolutely no need for Rattatas, pidgeys and weedles to be in eggs at all. You can't move for having them spawn all over the place. Getting sick of hatching eggs just to be met with one of those stupid Pokemon.

I love seeing people giving out about what they're getting in 10km eggs and then there's me almost level 21 who has never even gotten a 10km egg....

With pogo profiles now offline too is there anything like it that you can quickly see all your pokemon IV's without manually typing in info for each one?

Apparently the high escape rate from pokeballs is a bug that they're going to fix.

    Free pokeballs also??

I ran out of pokeballs for the first time today trying to get a magicarp. Some lost on pokemon some from trowing 2 week and others from trying to perfect the curve ball

Is that really an issue now? Cos I'm not seeing it that much, maybe with a few 100-200 CP pidgeys, but not much else.

It's happening to me a good bit. Taking 10+ pokeballs to catch a 40cp pokemon because they keep escaping the balls. Even raspberries don't seem to help

Caught a Hitmonchan last night, had to visit two Pokestops, buy 20 balls with coins accumulated from gyms and try three times, but got him. OH was not so lucky, having less coins.

Got an Omanyte today! The Marine Road in Greystones is excellent for a selection of Pokemon, if you're looking for a day out. Caught the regular Ghastlys, Krabbys and Psyducks, sometimes Squirtles, often enough Pikatchu, Voltorbs, Exeggecute, and a Charmander.

If you transfer your pokemon to the professor, say a CP10 Pidgey, are you still able to catch CP10 Pidgeys in the wild?

Been my experience that yes. Transferring doesn't seem to have any affect.

I am getting really frustrated reading about all the cool wide Pokemon you're all catching! Level 11 and I haven't caught anything really cool in the wild. Also going through a heap of pokeballs for what was a simple catch before.

On the other hand, I do have a few 10km eggs, got my first one at Level 3. It really does seem to all be luck.

Living in a rural area of Dublin makes this hard though, my closest poke stop is the other side of the town and I don't catch anything good around here, literally just pidgeys, rattatas and the odd zubat or weedle. I went for a long walk along the beach with incense on and caught nothing else, though there was a voltorb which ran away after a ball and a razzbery.

The games works well on the galaxy S4 mini so I would imagine it works on S4

yep it was working great for me too until yesterday when an app update got pushed out to me, no way to continue playing without updating and my phone does not support the update. I've tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling using the .apk i used originally but now that .apk cannot even be parsed by my phone.

    disaster

Hatched a 5k egg today and got Porygon. I'm having a good run of luck with eggs at the moment

With regard to Pokemon escaping pokeballs, it seems to happen mainly for me with Rattata! Flipping rats

Finally have 400 magikarp candies but only a 136CP magikarp - think i'll have to hold out for something bigger........

Have to say, I'm struggling to see the point of Gyms at the moment. Live in Sandyford, Dublin and work in town so there are plenty around but have been tracking them for the last week or so and NONE of them are being held for longer than a few hours at a time. Given it takes 21 hours to be rewarded for anything and the battles are pretty much just tap fests, it just seems pointless.

    Am I missing something??

you can claim the coins soon as you take the gym but you can only do itr once per day (so better to chave a few gyns before claiming)

Just used pidgey calc - I can evolve 5 rattata, 1 poliwag, 6 pidgeys, 5 weedles and 2 drowzees gaining 20,000 XP. Looks like I'm best to keep hunting them damn pidgeys rattatas and weedles.
