Regulations re: multicultural stove timber surround

    I wanted to get a multi fuel stove in my sitting room. Big opening to allow stove to be inserted or stand out proud ...for more heat ...but as there was a wooden surround ...he wouldn't ( supplier) touch it ..as he said he would have some liability in the case of a fire as it was against fire regs in Ireland ..he also mentioned problems would arise with house insurance should the unfortunate happen. E.G. house fire...
    Can anyone tell me where can see these regulations in writing..thks

    Ah thks do you know off hand how far the stove has to be from the timber surround ?

    Its set out on page 27 and 28, as we don't have the dimensions of the stove nobody can give you a definitive answer for sides, and top

    Ok it's a standard size stove 1.5 foot from the timber surround. It sticks out onto the actual grate

    its called a hearth and if you stick your stove on the existing hearth without extending it out into the room you will be in breach of thebuilding regs its on page 27 of regs i linked to before. perhaps you should read them
