After todays undocumented increase to the scan refresh from 5 seconds to 10 seconds alongside the undocumented difficulty increase from the update im pretty much declaring it a broken mess and unplayable compared to what was originally released.

Anyone who has begun to play it now or after the 3 step glitch, you literally have no clue how bad things have gotten compared to how good it was in the first 2 weeks. Server problems aside there was actually a game there to play while now its just a game of chance where if the route you are walking happens to spawn a pokemon good for you otherwise your SOL.

Tracking pokemon was literally a core mechanic and to remove that completely while at the same time up the break free chance as well as run away chance is just baffling to say the least, not to mention now the refresh rate is 10 seconds instead of 5 which means anyone walking a decent pace could completely miss a pokemon spawn thats on the outer half of their scan radius.

I would have to completely disagree with this post. The server problems were the worst thing with the game, it was unplayable. I have been playing from the start, and in the first 2 weeks I spent a lot of time unable to log in to the game because the servers were under so much pressure. Finally getting in, using a lure/incense, only for it to go down again 10 minutes later.
I haven't noticed a massive difference since the update, in fact, one of my best days for catching pokemon so far (both in number and rarity) was since the update, and with no pokevision.

Is the update in the playstore? Or is it just iPhone users for now haven't updated and haven't asked to.

I haven't really been bothering too much with the gym/battling aspect of the game as it's a mess, just been trying to collect, paying very little attention to IVs and that.

Scanned my profile there and most of my high CP mons are low IV, does this mean I shouldn't bother my arse powering them up and should wait to catch higher IV/power up lower CPs with high IVs?

Caught my first Irish Pokemons in Cork yesterday, got 4 new ones using a lure so happy out with that. Got Clefairy (cp 291), Nidorino (cp 654), Seaking (cp 855) and Cubone (cp 39). First time using a lure has gotten me anything other than Weedles, Rattatas and Pidgeys.

I'm level 18, caught 56 seen 57 (the Magicarp that got away!). My highest are a 1209 Vaporeon and a 985 hypno, both evolves.

I'm in Ireland for 2 weeks but not holding out much hope for catching loads as I'm reliant on wifi! Seems there's more variety here than Germany so far tho!

Also I've a weird bug since the update, I can't catch Pidgeys! My balls go right through them, no matter what. Only seems to affect Pidgeys though.

Not as impressive as Tar's but still happy enough that the 'mons I'd powered up/evolved before properly understanding IVs aren't too bad (other than my Poliwrath :o )

Need to track down another 5 dratini so I can evolve my 97% one :D

Anyone know what the mysterious 'bonus exp' that you sometimes get on a catch? It just says 'bonus' and is always 100exp, I've gotten it a few times on different mons but never figured out what it's for...

The upping of difficulty along with the visible dropping of spawn rates has made the game a drastically different thing to play, also not being able to track pokemon at all just makes it all about luck for what you come across, you cannot intentionally catch a pokemon you see on the nearby tab without being exceptionally lucky

There is a site to gather all your pokemon stats, what ones you have, what IV they are, CP etc. You can add friends and compare. Here is an example of my card you can share as well
What kind of access do they get to your Google/Pokemon Go account?

I think what you're describing is 100 bonus XP you get for every 100 of a particular pokemon you catch.

...or exceptionally determined. I find the constant wandering around to be, sometimes, monotonous, especially given that I've no clue whether the Pokemon in the 1st position in the nearby radar is actually the closest to me. In my experience it's hit and miss but, then again, I don't know an awful lot of how that radar is meant to work; at least, I thought I knew a lot but then it broke and now the functionality's limited so now who knows...!

Anyway, my PoGo stats are below.

It's an Interesting view on my recently caught Lapras and Hypno. I normally use The Silph Road to check my Pokemon but didn't get around to it for those two. PoGo seems quicker and easier for this though :)

Looks like my time in the Pokemon filled world is at an end.

I used one of the 0.29 apk versions of the game so i could play on my Galaxy S4 and now it's requesting me to update but the phone isn't able to run so therefore download the update :(:(

Anyone any ideas about this, bar buying a better phone.

I'm in the same boat, but with an S5, anyone got any ideas? :( I'd actually stopped playing more or less a while back because of the server issues, started to get back into it and now locked out again

Lads the young lad can't log in to the game, is it working for everyone else?
He's been trying all morning and has a day planned out walking around the town.

Load of bollox, don't see why Niantic wouldn't just let the old version run for those on older phones while pushing the latest release out to the new phones. Like Facebook does. Cutting off a big chunk of the game base i'd imagine. HArd to picture all the younger kids playing the game walking around with shiny Samsung S6 and iPhone 6 etc. Although i'm sure plenty are.

You get a code from google to give to them and they get a snapshot of your pogo account, they dont get your google details.

Can't you just do what you did originally to get the game on your device or is the latest update now not supported on your device?

No, i originally installed an old APK that was knocking about. this is what i have been running up until now but they are forcing an app update to continue to play now and wont let me in to the app.

I know about that as I unfortunately had the same experience on my device. With that said, is the latest apk not available to install manually?

The games works well on the galaxy S4 mini so I would imagine it works on S4

botting has been nuked. without getting into too much detail, they've made some very interesting and difficult to crack changes server side. looks like they took botting very seriously at niantic.

PoGoProfiles is great, just signed up for it there. Wish that the card-type view was available on the Pokemon Go app, so you can see the IVs of your Pokemon straight away.

Don't really understand IVs, but am I better off evolving a lower CP pokemon with a higher IV% rather than my highest CP pokemon with pretty low IV?
