shocking all right, which is why the Bavarian CSU is now calling for nobody to be let into the country without proof of who they are.

What a crazy concept! They must be 'far-right' thugs.

    Hi Folks,

This is going to be a long one.

You are probably going to say "awh hell no not another thread" but I have to talk about this. I am currently living in Southern Germany, I have a good job and I love it here have been here for over 3 years but I am seriously considering moving back home to Ireland because of how out of control things are getting here..

So many things don't make it into the news, some of the worst stuff.

A friend of mine is a doctor and he has been telling me about the huge increase in women getting raped/gangraped by men of "north african" descent that come to him to get checked for STI's - It's a weekly occurrence for him now, and the "rapers" are more or less never caught. These guys have no names, no passports and meld back into their refugee centers once they're done. Police have absolutely no control of the situation. He informed me of one group of guys who did get caught abusing 2 kids between the age of 10 and 14, they are now in prison, but they all claim to be under the age of 18, so they can't be sent back to their own countries.

I know three Iraqi guys who landed here under the idea that they were each to get a house, car and €2,000 a month! When this obviously wasn't true, they actually said "fk this!, we want to go home" - great! what better could you ask for? They want to leave of their own accord. NOPE. They arrived without passports and are NOT ALLOWED TO GO BACK TO IRAQ because they don't have passports! The Landratsamt (Administrative Districts Office) expects a waiting time of 6 months before they will have the sufficient paperwork processed to allow these guys to leave.

There is a 17 year old Egyptian guy living one hour from me who has been so violent (stabbings + assault) that they decided to pay a security company €13,000 a month to have a 24 hour watch on him - 2 security guys follow him around all day. A friend of mine is teaching German to the refugees and this guy is in her class, security mandatory at all times. There is no war in Egypt, ship him home? Nope, he is under 18. It's not legal.

Here where I live there are not so many, but 1 year later almost none of them can speak German and most of them can't speak English. When the weather is nice they just don't show up to their language class, they will just head out for a swim instead. Don't like the food? Start a fight with the people serving the food.

It is literally getting worse and worse by the day and that stupid cow, Merkel comes out with a statement last week that "everything is grand, we won't stop the inflow of refugees". The current laws are completely unacceptable and insufficient to deal with the situation. If someone seeking asylum here commits a crime that doesn't warrant 2+ years in prison, they are simply let go and their asylum is unaffected. It needs to be rape/murder before their asylum gets declined - so they can pick pocket, assault and pretty much do whatever they want. And if they are under 18, forget about any punishment.

I could write so much more but I feel this is probably already more than what most people will read. I am slowly but surely wanting to move back to Ireland, but I have a family here and I don't feel like running away is the right thing to do. So much of the bad stuff doesn't make it into the news, as so many people here don't want to be seen as "racist" and sher it's just the minority doing it. But even if we were generous and said the minority of 2% of a very conservative guess of 1m refugees, we're at 20,000 bad people.

Sorry for the rant, but I needed to get it off my chest.
I don't think that that is a quote from Angela Merkel... if you are making it up you should not quote it. She may have said something like that but she did not say everything is grand !!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're running out of things to nit pick at so you find this :pac:

She doesn't generally speak English.. So of course she didn't say exactly those words. If all the logic and facts here are too overwhelming for your leftist views, you can nit pick something irrelevant and add a few exclamation marks to nail the point home.

    Here you go: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36912141

18 July: An axe-wielding teenage asylum seeker from Afghanistan is shot dead after injuring five people in an attack on a train. IS claims the attack, releasing a video recorded by the attacker before the incident

24 July: A Syrian asylum seeker is arrested in the town of Reutlingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, after allegedly killing a Polish woman with a machete and injuring two other people. Police suggest it was probably a "crime of passion"

24 July: A failed Syrian asylum seeker blows himself up outside a music festival in the small Bavarian town of Ansbach, injuring 15 other people.

That's just what's large enough to make it into the news.

and in the same time as nobody was killed in Germany by terrorists, in Ireland 13 were killed on the road in 6 days.

I'll agree that its a worrying trend that lone wolf terrorists, or psycho muppets turned terrorists wannabes, have started with attacks but I'm not getting into a rabid panic quite just yet when I am WAY more likely to come a cropper on the roads than at the hands of a g0b****e islamist.

It seems that people are more interested in deflecting from the issue and attached king you than discussing the topic at hand. The same story throughout Europe. Don't mention the war. Everything is grand!

Well, it's obviously not grand and this will seriously get out of hand if things are left go they way they are currently. This is exactly how far right nut jobs gain more and more political clout and power as the average citizen becomes desperate and has no other political avenue to turn to.

They can try rational and calm debate and actual solutions, without diving headfirst into "the other side are all bad guys!", but I realise that's going rather against human nature.

Obligatory Daily Mail warning, but Mordecai's Murdoch's News agencies are never not good for laughing at - be it in derision or disbelief.

...That's just what's large enough to make it into the news.

None of that hysteria is unique to refugees, asylum seekers or immigrants. Your OP is about refugees though, so we'll stick to that. I think you're way off on your estimation of 1 million refugees in Germany btw.
It's also difficult to believe everything in your rant, especially when you use phrases such as...
A friend of mine is a doctor and he has been telling me...
    I know three Iraqi guys...
There is a 17 year old Egyptian guy living one hour from me...
A friend of mine is teaching German to the refugees...

Apart from you being friends with three Iraqi guys which I'm sure you'll be able to easily verify, you're expecting us to believe a stranger on an internet forum posting hearsay and conjecture.

What exactly do you want Irish people on an Irish forum to do about your German problem?

You already have the same heads as usual riled up, frothing at the mouth and sharpening their pitch forks. Perhaps job done?

Even if we were to believe all your stories, the only first hand evidence you have is of immigrants not learning the local language and coming into to Germany looking for handouts. Neither is exactly a crime.
Plenty of Irish don't learn the local language and stick to the Irish/ex-pat communities.

I also fail to understand how someone could be considered such a danger to society that they require 24 hour surveillance yet there is insufficient evidence to charge them. It doesn't make any sense.

Not a bad way to see it. I wish people would apply the same logic to gun rights across the pond - given that you're fifty five times more likely to get a heart attack alone than get shot. Hell, you're actually almost four times more likely to kill yourself - but nonetheless, it's a cause of death worth bearing in mind..

Initiating a debate needs some useful data. Not some crap from down the pub.

Though if you want crap from down the pub then I'm regularly in Germany with work, converse with Germans and immigrants on this matter and none take issue with the refugee policy.

It's pretty straight forward to provide counterpoints because it's all hearsay.
