240vac to 16v dc Power Line Carrier Transformer

Does anyone know where I might source the above from or is there somebody out there that could assemble one. I've Googled but no leads coming back at the moment.

16v DC is a bit of an odd voltage. You will get a 240v AC to 12 / 24 v DC handy enough. Could you use 24v DC or is it voltage sensitive

It's definitely voltage sensitive. The 12/24 option is very common. It also requires the ability to work over the power line carrier to control x10.

It certainly looks like it might. The big question is would it pass signal over the power line. I must confess I'm out of my depth here but I have heard that a lot of transformers tend to block the signal that carries the power line commands in x10.

Are you familiar with the x10 protocol yourself.

I am aware of X10, but have not used it.
Stoner has, so he would be better placed to comment.

A transformer has an AC input and an AC output. Your original post asks for a device with an AC input and a DC output, so I provided a link to a power supply unit, not a transformer.

My apologies for the confusion.I've attached an image of an American unit which is exactly what I'd be looking for except it would be 220-240vac instead of 110-120vac. I cant use a step down because the power line carrier would not carry through the step down unit
